Can the Fuggerstädter also upset the record champions?

In terms of points, FC Bayern Munich are enjoying their most successful Bundesliga season in seven years. However, with Bayer Leverkusen currently hovering in their own spheres, the Reds still only occupy second place in the table after 18 league games, four points behind the leaders. If the bet on an away win for the German record champions at Augsburg against Bayern does not work out, it would be another serious setback

At the same time, another slip-up by Thomas Tuchel’s team is by no means categorically ruled out. As a reminder: FCB have lost their last two Bundesliga games in a row at the WWK Arena. What’s more, FCA are very strong at home. The Fuggerstädter have only lost two of their nine league games at home so far in 2023/24 (three wins, four draws)

Since being promoted to the Bundesliga for the first time in the summer of 2011, FC Augsburg have held their own in the top flight of German soccer. The Fuggerstädter, who finished their fourth season in 15th place in 2022/23 but have never had to face relegation, are now firmly established in the top tier of German soccer.

In the 2023/24 season, there was already a change of coach after a poor start. However, since Jess Thorup took over as coach of the Bavarian Swabians, the form curve has been on the rise again. After 18 games, they have 21 points to their name – and a carefree tenth place in the table

Augsburg well clear of the relegation zone

Augsburg often fall behind, but still score most of the time

The betting tip for Augsburg against Bayern is that Jess Thorup’s team will also lose the Bavarian duel by a maximum of one goal difference, especially as the last two Bundesliga home games in a row against the German record champions have been victorious.

However, FCA must be careful, especially in the first half of the game. The Fuggerstädter have conceded 67 percent of all goals (22 out of 33) in the first half this season. Taking a 1-0 lead was usually half the battle for Bayern
