It was only in the last ten minutes that the La Liga third-placed team was able to convert its superiority into goals, but two more goals only came in injury time to secure a 3-1 win.

Atletico therefore got off lightly in the cup and extended their strong streak. It would have been a very unexpected slip-up in the cup, and the fact that Atletico were only behind in the final phase was surprising given their recent performances. In their last two away games, the Rojiblancos scored eleven goals, following up their 6-0 Champions League win over Sparta Prague with a no-less-easy 5-0 win over Real Valladolid days later.
Three away appearances within a week, so on Sunday they finally have a home game again. The Andalusians completed their cup duty against fourth division side UE Olot without any problems (3-1), but they lack consistency in La Liga.
They have not won two consecutive games in a row, and they missed the chance to do so last weekend with another disappointing 1-1 draw against Osasuna. Sevilla lack consistency – especially in offense
There is no clear tendency, the team of coach Garcia Pimienta, which a few years ago was regularly competing with Atletico Madrid for a place in the Champions League, fluctuates too much in its performance.
