Will the Gunners worsen the Red Devils’ crisis?
While Manchester United went down 4-0 at arch-rivals Liverpool during the week, Arsenal followed up three straight defeats with an important 4-2 away win at city rivals Chelsea. The Gunners thus remain in the race for the Champions League but, currently fifth in the table, must now defend their three-point lead over chasers Manchester United.
The Red Devils have lost their last three away games in the Premier League by a total of 1-9 goals and have just one win in their last five competitive games. Accordingly, ahead of the clash between Arsenal and Manchester United, the odds are swinging towards the Gunners.
The Londoners have lacked the consistency needed to play at the top of the table time and time again in the 2021/22 season. Nevertheless, six matchdays before the end of the season, the chances are still good that the Gunners will return to the top flight. Moreover, none of the last three Premier League home games against the Red Devils was lost (two wins, one draw).
Due to the recent poor form of Rangnick’s team and the absence of goal-scorer Cristiano Ronaldo, it makes a lot of sense to play Arsenal vs Manchester United tip 1.
Arsenal – Statistics & current form
Under Mikel Arteta, Arsenal Football Club only finished eighth in the final table last summer, missing out on qualification for a European competition. Expectations for the new season were correspondingly high.
For long stretches of the current season, however, the Gunners were initially unable to live up to these expectations. For two matchdays, the traditional club from London was even in a relegation spot, before things cautiously started to look up again from the tenth matchday onwards.
Four defeats in the last six league games
The Londoners have now finished ten matches in fourth place in the table, although they have recently lost it again to city rivals Tottenham in the wake of another small negative streak. Four out of five league games were lost before the knot broke at city rivals Chelsea, of all places, during the week.
The Gunners won 4:2 at Stamford Bridge and were able to stop their little slide. However, this result must now be confirmed, as the team still has four defeats in its last six league games (two victories) on record.
The third most home wins in the Premier League
The home record of Mikel Arteta’s side stands out positively, winning ten of the 16 league games played at home to the Emirates Stadium. Only Liverpool (13) and Manchester City (12) have won more Premier League home games so far this season.
Arsenal’s next home win against Manchester United is therefore a good bet, especially as they have not lost any of their last three Premier League home games against the Red Devils. On top of that, MUFC are coming to the national capital on the back of a 4-0 defeat at Liverpool.
Predicted Arsenal line-up:
Ramsdale – Tavares – Magalhaes – Holding – White – Xhaka – Eneny – Smith-Rowe – Ödegaard – Saka – Nketiah

Manchester United – Statistics & current form
Manchester United Football Club had to go through some valleys again recently. Around the Champions League eighth-final exit against Atlético Madrid, there were just two wins in the last seven league games (two draws, three defeats).
Ralf Rangnick’s team, who will continue to manage the Red Devils on an interim basis until the end of the season, is thus once again in crisis. They are three points off a Champions League spot again, with MUFC already having played one game more than their direct rivals Arsenal and Tottenham.
A little final at the Emirates Stadium
Even with an away win at the Emirates Stadium, the English record champions could not make it into the Champions League on their own after the bitter 4-0 defeat at arch-rivals Liverpool. If the away win at the Gunners fails to materialise, the situation would suddenly become really hopeless.
The Red Devils are therefore facing a small final, but they have been in poor form recently, especially away from home. The last three Premier League away games in a row were all lost with a total of 1:9 goals. MUFC have not even managed to pick up a point at relegation-threatened Everton FC.
Unbeaten in 13 Premier League away games in London
At least, however, the away record is quite respectable in the national capital. The Red Devils have now not lost in 13 Premier League away games at London clubs (eight wins, five draws). The last defeat in the capital, however, dates back to a visit to the Gunners (0:2 in January 2020).
Accordingly, the not-so-formidable record champions are still only outsiders.

16/04/2022 – Manchester United 3 – 2 Norwich

Arsenal – Manchester United Direct Comparison / H2H Record
Head to head: 85 – 50 – 100
There have been a total of 235 meetings between the two teams and the Red Devils lead the head-to-head comparison with 100 wins. Manchester United also won the first leg 3-2 to end a run of six consecutive winless Premier League games against Arsenal.
Arsenal – Manchester United betting tips
The prediction for Arsenal against Manchester United goes in the direction of the home side. The Red Devils already presented themselves desolately in Liverpool during the week and now also have to do without Cristiano Ronaldo, who is the clear top scorer with 15 goals and just underlined his value with a treble in the 3-2 win over Norwich. This away trip will be correspondingly difficult for the English record champions, who have lost their last three Premier League away games by a total of 1-9 goals.
Also because the Londoners are strong at home and have won ten of their 16 Premier League home games, it therefore makes a lot of sense to bet on a home win for the Gunners, who would then take a big step towards the Champions League.
