Will the Gunners let them get away with it?
Everything already looked as if Arsenal FC would march to the title for the first time since their last championship in the 2003/04 season. In February, however, the temporary slump occurred. With only one point out of a possible six from the last two games, the lead over second place shrank to three points. Now, if the Sky Blues win Arsenal v Manchester City, the Citizens would once again be level on points with the Gunners.
An almost unbelievable series speaks in favour of the visitors. Pep Guardiola’s side have won their last ten Premier League games in a row against the Gunners and have celebrated six consecutive away victories at the Emirates Stadium. Arsenal v Manchester City is a correspondingly interesting prediction for an away win for the Sky Blues, who have, however, lost three of their last six Premier League away games.
While a very close match at eye level is to be expected. Tactically, however, the visitors, who beat Arsenal 1-0 in the FA Cup three weeks ago, seem to have more options, especially as the Londoners were very easy to count on. The Gunners have had the same starting eleven for the last six Premier League games in a row. A circumstance that Everton and Brentford have also adjusted to excellently in league play recently.
Accordingly, we find the greatest value in betting on an away win for the Sky Blues, which would put a serious damper on Arsenal’s fight for the championship.
Arsenal – Statistics & current form
As 13-time national champions, FA Cup record winners (14 titles) and European champions (European Cup Winners’ Cup 1994), Arsenal FC have the right to play a major role in the Premier League. The last few years were all the more sobering.
However, those responsible then changed their approach. Instead of turning the coaching carousel in the face of failure, Mikel Arteta was allowed to continue working in peace despite three seasons in a row in which qualification for the Champions League was missed.
Only one point out of a possible six from the last two games
For a long time, it seemed that the north London club would now be rewarded to the maximum for that patience. When main rivals Manchester City lost the Manchester derby in January, the Gunners finally marched away in the table.
Then, however, came the collapse in February. First Arsenal lost 1-0 at relegation-threatened Everton FC – only their second Premier League match of the 2022/23 season – and then they promptly drew 1-1 with Brentford in the London derby. The lead over the Sky Blues has thus shrunk to three points.
Still unbeaten in ten Premier League home games
While the Gunners still have a strong home record. They have not lost any of their ten Premier League home games so far in the 2022/23 season (eight wins, two draws). Nevertheless, the betting odds on Arsenal against Manchester City are now swinging in the direction of the visitors.
After all, the Sky Blues are not only the only team against whom coach Mikel Arteta, who recently failed to rotate the starting line-up six times in a row, has never before managed a win. The north Londoners have also lost ten Premier League games in a row against the Citizens in recent times.

Manchester City – Statistics & current form
Manchester City have been the absolute measure of all things at national level of late. In four of the last five years, the Sky Blues secured the English championship. In addition, during this era under Pep Guardiola, they won the EFL Cup four times, the FA Cup overall and reached the final of the 2021 Champions League.
For much of the new season, however, it looked as if the Citizens would have to let a resurgent Arsenal FC pull away and look to other competitions for their title chances.
Recent six away wins at Arsenal
Now, however, the Sky Blues have a great chance to regain a points tie with the north Londoners with an away win at the Gunners, who have been winless in two league games in a row recently. The fact that the Citizens have won all of their last six games at the Emirates Stadium is one of the reasons why Arsenal vs Manchester City tip 2 will work out.
In addition, London has always been a good place for Pep Guardiola’s team. It is true that just a week and a half ago they lost 1-0 at Tottenham. However, it was one of only two defeats in the capital in their last 13 Premier League away games (nine wins, two draws).
Lost three of last six Premier League away games
At the weekend, the Sky Blues enjoyed a 3-1 win over Aston Villa, a dress rehearsal for this important top-of-the-table clash. However, the engine of the reigning champions faltered, especially away from home. A surprising 2-0 defeat at Southampton in the EFL Cup was followed by two successive away defeats in the Premier League.
It is true that City have won three of their last six away games in the league. However, the other three games were all lost, which means that Guardiola’s team is only sixth in the current away table of the Premier League. In addition, superstar Erling Haaland, who was recently substituted with an injury against Aston Villa, is questionable for this top-of-the-table clash.

Arsenal – Manchester City Direct comparison / H2H record
Head to head: 98 – 45 – 63
There have been a total of 206 meetings between the two teams so far and with 98 victories, the Gunners clearly lead the direct comparison. Recently, however, the match could hardly have been more clearly in the hands of the Citizens, who have won the last ten Premier League duels in a row. On 27 January 2023, the Sky Blues also knocked Arsenal out of the FA Cup with a 1-0 win.
Arsenal – Manchester City Tip
When it comes to Arsenal vs Manchester City, our prediction is shaped by the Gunners’ slump in performance as they picked up a meagre point from their last two league games against Everton (0-1) and Brentford (1-1), squandering their big lead. With six league games in a row featuring the same starting eleven, the north Londoners may also have been a little too predictable, something tactician Pep Guardiola, who has won all of his last 10 Premier League clashes with Arsenal, may be able to exploit.
The most interesting bet is therefore on an away win for the Sky Blues, who would then be right back in contention for the championship. For tip 2, odds of 2.48 are available on Arsenal vs Manchester City, which we play at Mybet with five units.
