Will Arsenal also show Liverpool the limits?
One of the biggest highlights of the upcoming football weekend is surely the match between Arsenal and Liverpool. The fact that the odds are even slightly in favour of the home side, thus elevating the reigning runners-up to the role of razor-thin underdogs, is pretty impressive evidence of how the season has gone so far from the point of view of the two top teams.
While the Gunners continue to lead the standings and go into this top-of-the-table clash with an even broader chest after their north London derby success against Tottenham, the visitors from Anfield continue to lag well behind their own expectations at national level.
The deserved, but once again lacklustre home win in the Champions League against Rangers was a step in the right direction. Whether this can be confirmed in the capital, however, remains to be seen.
Because Jürgen Klopp’s team fell behind early on this season and cannot afford to slip up again in the Premier League, we expect two attacking and courageous teams in a direct clash that will probably provide us with a spectacular and goal-filled Sunday afternoon. It is also clear that in the event of a successful Arsenal vs Liverpool prediction on the hosts, the Reds’ gap to the league leaders would grow to a whopping 14 points.
Arsenal – Statistics & current form
Arsenal fans can’t get the smile off their faces at the moment. After eight matchdays, the Gunners are still leading the table in the Premier League. Thanks to an impressive record of seven wins and only one defeat, the Londoners are currently relegated to second and third place by industry leaders Manchester City and nemesis Tottenham.
Those who were perhaps a little worried that the momentum might shift after the international break were promptly proved wrong last weekend. With an outstanding performance, the Arteta eleven defeated Spurs 3:1 in the derby and thus landed the fourth win in the fourth PL home game of the current season. All four victories, however, came with at least one goal conceded. In two of the four cases, a bet on the over 3.5 would have paid off. Our first tendency therefore goes in the direction of an Over tip.
Arsenal play attractive and efficient Arteta football
Another interesting statistic also speaks in favour of this, as Arsenal have not conceded a goal against LFC in 13 first league matches and have not managed a clean sheet in any of their last nine PL home games.
Despite this, the Gunners are on a season-long run of seven consecutive home wins in what is arguably the strongest domestic football league in the world. With this in mind, Arsenal vs Liverpool must also be considered for DNB 1 betting.
Finally, it should be mentioned that the capital club currently has the best attack behind Manchester City and has only managed to score less than two goals of its own in one of its eight league games. Among others, the in-form Gabriel Jesus and Gabriel Martinelli are responsible for the remarkable output. Together, the two Brazilians have marked eight goals and prepared another four. Ex-Citizen Jesus is also a true Liverpool expert, having been involved in a total of six goals against LFC in his career.

Liverpool – Statistics & current form
Will Liverpool Football Club be fighting for their last chance to get back into the title race in England after all on Sunday afternoon? With less than a quarter of the Premier League season gone, the Reds already have their backs against the wall. With one game to go, the 2020 champions are already eleven points behind their London rivals. City are also ten points behind. The Klopp team cannot afford another defeat.
However, it also seems rather unlikely that a prediction on an away victory will pay off at the weekend between Arsenal and Liverpool. So far, LFC has been too weak in opposing stadiums. Not a single one of the three games played away from home has been won, and in the Champions League they lost 4-1 in Naples.
First LFC away win this PL season?
It wasn’t only in this painful defeat in Tuscany that the defence turned out to be the biggest problem for the Scousers at the moment. The Scousers have also conceded nine goals in seven league games, three of which came in the 3-3 draw at home to Brighton, when Liverpool quickly fell 2-0 behind and then turned the game around only to concede an equaliser in the closing stages. There is no sign of the stability of the past. The fact that the Reds have been trailing 1-0 in nine of their last eleven Premier League games also speaks for this.
There is some hope, however, in the fact that Klopp’s team won the two most recent away games at the Emirates Stadium. But: The cult club from Anfield has never managed to win three consecutive league matches at the Gunners. Therefore, we are not paying any attention to the odds on a three-goal win for the visitors before the Arsenal vs Liverpool clash.
However, two attacking players need to be highlighted. Firstly, Roberto Firmino, who was actually considering leaving in the summer, but is now enjoying his second spring with five goals in six matches. The other is Diogo Jota, who has already scored six goals in eight matches against Arsenal in his career and should also lead the way on Sunday. In general, we also trust the Klopp protégés to score(s), regardless of the final result, so we can’t avoid an over bet.

Arsenal – Liverpool Direct Comparison / H2H Balance
This is the 193rd time Arsenal have faced Liverpool in England’s top flight. With 75 wins to 65 defeats and 52 draws, Liverpool lead the historical direct comparison. Far more important, however, is a look at the recent past, in which the Reds have also often been ahead.
Arsenal, for example, have only won one of their last 14 direct encounters against LFC in the Premier League (four draws, nine defeats). The Reds have won all four of their most recent meetings and have also scored at least once in 13 successive visits to London, scoring 39 goals in total. Four of the past seven PL encounters between these teams have resulted in at least four goals. There should be no shortage of goals on Sunday afternoon either.
Arsenal – Liverpool Tip
Friends of English football can look forward to an extremely exciting and intense top match this weekend. Although the current standings, which show the visitors only in ninth place, do not really confirm the narrative of a top match, two high-quality and attacking teams meet in a direct duel.
Without further explanation and analysis, it is therefore definitely worth considering betting odds on a goal or two in the course of the game between Arsenal and Liverpool. Various statistics reinforce this approach. For example, LFC have always scored at least once in their last 13 league games against the Gunners. In addition, Arteta’s side currently boast the second-best attack in the league, having never scored less than two of their own at home.
After both teams were able to save some energy during the week in international competition after taking early leads and in view of clear playing advantages, we are convinced that the tip on the over 3.5 will come true in the clash between Arsenal and Liverpool. In any case, the odds of 2.40 are too high in our eyes and therefore contain an appealing value. We choose five units as the stake.
To reduce the risk somewhat, you can also bet on both teams scoring and a total of at least three goals.
