The Olympic torch carried in recent hours by Allegri illuminates Lake Como and the Rossoneri bus’s return journey to Milanello. Speaking of light: Maignan’s saves, Nkunku’s penalty, and Rabiot’s first Milan double are the ingredients that allow Milan to brighten up the darkness of their performance in Como with three points, insufficient in itself but sanctified by the strikes of its men of greater quality. Allegri, however, by nature, is someone who focuses on the concrete, and therefore looks above all at these three points that cancel out Inter’s attempt to break away and leave his team in the wake of the Scudetto (here is the table). The victory is significant because Milan returns home knowing that it won with three goals on a field where no one had won this season (the last defeat was on May 25) and where the Larians had conceded only four goals so far. A victorious Diavolo in a match where it changed its game plan three times.

magic mike—  “It’s not a question of tactical implications,” Allegri explains. “We started with four midfielders, we had some good passing lines, but after falling behind, we lost our cohesion and took a couple of risks on the counterattack. Then, after getting back into the game, we played with three up front, and in the second half, after the equalizer, I preferred to go back to the usual system, partly because they were starting to make technical errors. On Rabiot’s goal, Leao did very well to win the ball and gave him a wonderful pass. The penalty? Rafa wanted to take it, Nkunku is a penalty taker like him, but at that moment I felt Nkunku should take it. The team was resilient and wanted this result. Füllkrug came on with the right spirit, as did all the substitutes. It’s not easy against Como when you fall behind, so I preferred to strengthen the midfield. Maignan kept us in the game at 1-0.
