Brazilian Serie A club Fluminense arrives at Camping World Stadium in Orlando on the back of an impressive run of ten consecutive positive results in all competitions. Renato Gaúcho’s side defied the odds by knocking Inter out in the round of 16. During this period, the Brazilians have racked up seven wins and three draws, earning the attention of experts: many are beginning to think that they can do better than their second place finish behind Manchester City in the 2023 edition of the tournament.
Placed in Group F, the Rio de Janeiro side finished second behind Borussia Dortmund with one win and two draws, scoring four goals and conceding just two. Although far from the top of the scoring charts, the team showed great defensive solidity, on a par with big names such as Bayern Munich, Inter, and Manchester City. To continue chasing their dream, they will need to maintain this solidity.
Last Monday, in the match against Inter at the Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte, Fluminense impressed once again. The final score was 2-0, with Germán Cano scoring with a precise header early on and Hercules coming off the bench to seal the win in stoppage time. The Brazilians are proving to be tough opponents for anyone. Tip: Fluminense to win – odds of 2.70 at bet365, 2.80 at Sisal, 2.80 at GoldBet. Explanation of the bet: if Fluminense wins the match in regular time, the bet is a winner.
Al-Hilal unbeaten since May
Al-Hilal, a Saudi Pro League team, is one of the most surprising protagonists of this Club World Cup. After finishing second in their group, they have collected five points in three games thanks to one win and two draws, remaining just two points behind Real Madrid, who are first and among the most successful clubs in the tournament. The balance sheet: three goals scored and only one conceded. Simone Inzaghi’s team also comes into this match with optimism, on the back of an unbeaten run that has lasted since May: nine games without defeat, with six wins and three draws. Among the most notable results are a 1-1 draw against Real Madrid, a 0-0 draw with Salzburg, and a 2-0 win over Pachuca, one of the strongest teams in the Mexican league. Few expected Al-Hilal to get this far. Instead, on Tuesday, they achieved the impossible: they eliminated former world champions Manchester City with a dramatic 4-3 victory in extra time. After the English side took the lead in the first half, the Saudis equalized in the 90th minute and struck the decisive blow in the final minutes. Now, against a Fluminense side that is also solid in defense, we could see a tighter match than expected.
Under 2.5 goals – odds of 1.80 on bet365, 1.80 on Sisal, 1.80 on GoldBet
Explanation of the bet: if less than three goals are scored by both teams, the bet wins.
Bet on odds of up to 5.00 in Florida
After choosing Fluminense as the winner and betting on a low-scoring game, we combine the two predictions into a single high-odds bet: Fluminense to win without conceding a goal is offered at 5.00. A bit of luck is needed, of course, but the numbers say it’s possible: the Brazilian side’s defense has proven to be very solid.
The South American side kept a clean sheet against Borussia Dortmund in their opening game and against Mamelodi Sundowns on the final day of Group F. They then eliminated Inter with a 2-0 win, a result that looks more hard-fought than it was. In reality, the Brazilians were in control throughout, and a third goal was only ruled out by VAR in the final minutes.
Al-Hilal did extraordinary things against strong teams like Guardiola’s, but failed to score against Salzburg, took the lead against Real Madrid only from a penalty and closed out the 2-0 win over Pachuca with a goal in the 95th minute. With a place in the semifinals at stake, if Fluminense takes the lead, it could seal the result.
Comment: Fluminense to win without conceding a goal – odds 5.00 on bet365, 4.80 on Sisal, 4.60 on GoldBet
Explanation of the bet: if Fluminense wins the match in regular time without conceding a goal, the bet is a winner.
