A back-and-forth (and counter-response) over two days between the coaches of Como and Juventus. It all started with a comment by the Croatian about Cesc’s power in the transfer market, who pointed out: “I call him ‘Mr. Tudor,’ with respect. He, on the other hand…“

We have a new rivalry on the bench in Serie A. Cesc Fabregas and Igor Tudor exchanged poisonous remarks at the end of Como-Juventus. It all started the day before, when Tudor expressed a certain envy towards his colleague at a press conference, who has extensive powers in the transfer market at Como and a big team’s budget: ”Has Como invested as much as we have? I’m not very interested in transfer spending,“ said the Juventus coach, ”but tomorrow will be tough: Como is a small club, they’ve invested a lot and the coach has chosen all the players, which is a good thing. Juventus must always win, which is fair enough, and when that doesn’t happen, many people think I’m in the wrong, but not always me, as I analyze and try to explain. Anyone who is intellectually honest understands this.“

Fabregas responded 24 hours later: ”Tudor said that I got the players I wanted, but perhaps they didn’t explain things to him properly. He called me ‘the Como coach,’ but I, with respect, call him Mr. Tudor. He has to win all the time with Juventus, we don’t, we do a different job.“ Obviously, the statement was reported to Tudor, who put a (controversial) end to it: ”Fabregas can say whatever he wants.” Amen.
