Will the Giants suffer their fourth defeat in a row?
On the 11th matchday of the NFL, the Washington Commanders and the New York Giants will face off. The home side is clearly favored in this encounter, as while the visitors have only won two games this season, the hosts have already won four. For this reason, the bookmakers’ odds between the Washington Commanders and New York Giants clearly favor a win for the home team
If we look at the results of the last few weeks, it quickly becomes clear why the odds distribution is so clear. New York has only won one of its last nine games and has already lost four games by more than 20 points. For this reason, the odds between the Washington Commanders and New York Giants are clearly against a win for the visiting team
We recommend betting on a touchdown from Brian Robinson Jr. between the Washington Commanders and New York Giants. The home side’s running back is playing an outstanding season, also works as a pass receiver and has found his way into the opponent’s end zone in seven of the eleven games.
Kickoff for this NFC matchup is Sunday at 7:00 p.m. at FedEx Field in Landover. The game can be watched live and in full on DAZN.
Washington Commanders – Statistics & current form
Washington are in third place in the NFC East and therefore ahead of their upcoming opponents from New York. Nevertheless, Ron Rivera’s team have only won four of their ten games and therefore have little chance of making the NFL playoffs.
The Philadelphia Eagles and the Dallas Cowboys will decide who wins the division, meaning that the only option left is to qualify for the knockout round based on the number of wins. However, the remaining program is a tough one, as the Commanders still have to face Miami, San Francisco and Dallas twice.
Passing Leader
Sam Howell is currently the National Football League passing leader with 2,783 passing yards and is having a strong season. Nevertheless, we should not forget that some of his rivals still have a game in hand and could therefore pass the Commanders’ quarterback. Nevertheless, the youngster’s performances are very positive, as the 23-year-old American can also hold his own in the passing touchdowns category (17). Furthermore, we should not forget that Howell is only in his second year
Hard to keep up with
Brian Robinson is having a fantastic season so far and is by far the best player on the Commanders’ O-line. The Washington running back has not only scored five rushing touchdowns this season, but also three receiving touchdowns. He seems to be virtually unstoppable and is therefore also the best scorer in Ron Rivera’s team. It should also be mentioned that he is only playing his second year in the NFL.
Safe starting center
Terry McLaurin is quite experienced compared to the rest of the offense and radiates that experience on the field. The Commanders’ wide receiver is an extremely reliable pass receiver and has already amassed 601 yards this season. With his consistent performances, he is one of the reasons why Washington’s passing game is working so well right now.
Weak defense
While the offense has done a very good job so far, the D-Line continues to struggle. The Commanders are allowing an average of 27.4 points per game, making them the second weakest defense in the National Football League. So it’s no wonder that Washington has only four wins and six losses despite having a good offense.
Key players for the Washington Commanders:
- QB: Sam Howell
- RB: Brian Robinson
- WR: Terry McLaurin
- TE: Logan Thomas
- K: Joey Slye
New York Giants – stats & current form
New York is currently in last place in the NFC East and is one of the weakest teams in the National Football League. Brian Daboll’s team has only won two of its ten games and will therefore miss out on a place in the NFL playoffs.
Add to that a series of injuries and we wouldn’t be surprised if the Giants have already put the season behind them. We can even imagine the visitors “tanking” the rest of the season to gain an advantage in the next draft
Quarterback No. 3
Quarterback Daniel Jones missed several games this season due to various injuries. His replacement Tyrod Taylor was also injured a few weeks ago, meaning that quarterback number three Tommy DeVito is now on the field. However, the rookie has not really impressed to date. In three games for the Giants, he threw three touchdown passes and three interceptions
Always banged up
Saquon Barkley seems to be plagued by bad luck this season and is constantly struggling with injuries. The Giants’ struggling running back has already missed three games and is still questionable for the upcoming game against the Washington Commanders. For Brian Daboll’s team, that would of course be a bitter loss, because when Barkley is fit, he is one of the best players in his position
Little penetration
The Giants currently have the weakest offense in the NFL, averaging just 11.8 points per game. The reasons for this are obvious: with just seven touchdown passes in ten games, the problems start with the quarterbacks. But there is also a lack of passing options, as Brian Daboll’s team does not have a single pass receiver in the NFL’s top 50. Added to this is kicker Graham Gano, who has only made eleven of his 17 field goal attempts
Weak defensive work
The visitors not only have the weakest offense in the NFL, they also have major problems on defense. The Giants concede an average of 26.6 points per game, putting them 29th in the league, so there seems to be no reason for optimism in New York’s game at the moment.
Key players for the New York Giants:
- QB: Tommy DeVito
- RB: Saquon Barkley (questionable)
- TE: Darren Waller
- LB: Micah McFadden
- K: Randy Bullock
Washington Commanders – New York Giants head-to-head comparison / H2H record
The direct comparison of the two teams goes to the underdog. The Giants have won 63 duels against the Commanders, while the home side currently has 51 wins. The two teams last met on matchday seven, just under a month ago. However, due to the long injury list on the visitors’ side, we think it is unlikely that New York will win again. For this reason, our prediction between the Washington Commanders and New York Giants is also in favor of the home team
Washington Commanders – New York Giants Tip
We are betting on a halftime lead for the home side in conjunction with a win for the hosts between the Washington Commanders and New York Giants. The visitors are one of the weakest teams in the NFL this season, have lost three games in a row and are also struggling with injuries. Ron Rivera’s team should therefore be the dominant team from the outset, especially in their own stadium.
Alternatively, we recommend the odds for under 39.5 points in the game between the Washington Commanders and New York Giants. This is primarily due to the visitors’ weak offense, which averages just 11.8 points. In addition, the visiting team will once again have its third quarterback on the field, meaning that most attacks will probably end with a rally
