Raptors hope for first win!
The Raptors are looking forward to their first home game in the series against the Philadelphia 76ers. However, the Canadians are running behind a 0:2 in the series, which is why only a win counts for them now!
Toronto Raptors – Statistics & current form
The Raps conceded in the first two duels in Philly in each case quite clear defeats with at least 15 points in difference. One reason at least for the last defeat is the injury to Scottie Barnes.
The rookie is currently out with an ankle injury and is missing as a powerful centre for Head Coach Nick Nurse’s team. In the first duel of the series the newbie had delivered a double-double in terms of points and boards.
Philadelphia 76ers – Statistics & current form
The Sixers have been able to rely on Joel Embiid so far in the series. The “big man” was the best shooter in the NBA during the regular season, averaging 30.6 points per game.
In the playoffs, after a subdued first game, at least in terms of scoring, he once again showed his class with 31 points in the latest exchange of blows.
However, the Philly franchise will now have to do without Matisse Thybulle. The defensive-minded shooting guard is not fully vaccinated and therefore cannot enter Canada.
Toronto Raptors – Philadelphia 76ers Tip
The visiting three-time champions, last seen 39 years ago, have built a strong starting position for the first game in Toronto with two home wins.
For their part, the home side already have their backs against the wall; if they lose their next game again, Nurse’s 2022 postseason is already more or less a done deal.
For the clash between the Toronto Raptors and Philadelphia 76ers in Game 3, the betting is on more than 25.5 points, rebounds and assists by Tyrese Maxey on the part of the visitors.
The point guard has been overshadowed by the Sixers’ two superstars Embiid and Harden, but he has delivered very successful performances on the offensive end so far in the series. The 21-year-old recorded 38 points in the first duel and 23 points in the following one.
The resulting average output of 30.5 points is currently only surpassed by three players in the NBA with at least two games in the 2022 playoffs as well.
Maxey’s current strong form is further evidenced by the fact that he has also increased his rebound and assist totals in the playoffs.
