Will the Saints win for the fifth time in a row in Tampa?
Tom Brady’s fearsome opponents come to Tampa to face the Buccaneers. He has the weakest record of his entire career against the Saints, with a 4-5 record. Only against the Seahawks (1-2) does he also still have a negative record in the regular season.
However, the first duel this season went to Brady and his Bucs, with which he could already improve the record a little. He could even it up with a win on Monday, which would also dramatically increase the Buccaneers’ playoff chances.
They are currently 5-6 with just one less loss than the Falcons. If the Bucs lose, they could lose first place in the NFC South. The Saints, who are in the same division, are 4-8.
Accordingly, they also have an outside chance of winning the division, which should lead to a competitive game. So for Bucs vs. Saints, our prediction is another low-scoring game where touchdown lovers won’t necessarily get their money’s worth.
Kickoff of this Monday Night Game is at 02:15 on Tuesday night in Tampa. The game can be watched live on DAZN.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers – Statistics & current form
The Buccaneers are really not making it easy for themselves this season. They get two important wins against the Rams and the Seahawks, then have a bye week and could finally get on track. But then they give away a lead against Cleveland and give away the win.
So they still have to tremble for the playoffs. Especially since Tampa’s remaining schedule is quite a challenge. After the Saints game, they have back-to-back matchups with the 49ers and Bengals. So it doesn’t get any easier.
Bucs in important games usually there
The duel against New Orleans on Monday is accordingly important. They cannot afford a defeat. They should not underestimate the Saints, even after their disastrous 0:13 last week. When they get rolling, or rather running, they can hurt any team.
Especially this running game around Alvin Kamera and partly also Taysom Hill has to be stopped. Not necessarily Tampa’s strength, they still allow 123.2 yards per game against the run. That weakness could be their undoing.
Shaquil Barrett missing from the defence
Especially with Shaquil Barrett, one of their best linebackers, out for several weeks. Another weakening of an already pretty plucked defence. That already diminishes the Buccaneers’ favourite status enormously.
Still, we see Brady and his team as favourites in this matchup. He’s been in this situation so many times and knows what it comes down to. So for Buccaneers vs. Saints, the odds are still more playable on Tampa than on the unpredictable Saints.
Key Players:
QB: Tom Brady
RB: Leonard Fournette
WR: Mike Evans
TE: Cameron Brate
K: Ryan Succop
New Orleans Saints – Statistics & current form
Zero Points. It seems pretty crazy that an offense featuring Alvin Kamera, Chris Olave, Jarvis Landry and Taysom Hill can’t score a single point in a game. But that’s what happened on Sunday against the San Francisco 49ers.
Once again you can see that the Saints often oscillate between Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. It was just over a month ago that they were able to hold an opponent (the Raiders) to zero points. So you can’t really make heads or tails of these performances.
Offense the problem child
The fact that they were only able to hold the 49ers to 13 points at least speaks for their defence, which has been as stable as usual lately. Their offense, however, has been subterranean in almost every other game. In their last five games, they remained under the 15-point mark offensively only three times.
Of course, games are rarely won like that, as it results in an average of just 13.4 points over that span. With the Bucs also averaging just 18.2 points (over the entire season), we’re not exactly expecting a high scoring game on Monday.
Is 20 points already enough to win?
The score for this matchup is correspondingly low. Just 40.5 points are the average at the betting providers and even this number we still see as very daring. So for Bucs vs. Saints a bet on under points is one of our betting recommendations.
Even more playable, however, are bets on Under 5 Touchdowns, as both teams have extreme problems scoring touchdowns. We think it is almost impossible that the number of 5 TD will be exceeded here.
Key Players:
QB: Andy Dalton
RB: Alvin Kamara
WR: Chris Olave
TE: Taysom Hill
K: Wil Lutz
Tampa Bay Buccaneers – New Orleans Saints Head-to-head comparison / H2H record
The only duel this season went quite clearly to the Buccaneers with 20:10. However, the Bucs lost both meetings with New Orleans last year, which contributed to Brady’s negative streak against this franchise.
However, with the Saints more inconsistent than ever this year, we would avoid betting on them for Monday. They are also just 1-4 away from home this season, while Tampa is 3-3 at home.
Thus, for Tampa vs New Orleans, the odds on the home team are more playable. Still, under points or points on few touchdowns is our clear recommendation as we would then be covered against a close Saints upset.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers – New Orleans Saints Tip
The Buccaneers didn’t really come out of their bye week on fire. But maybe the slightly older team just needs some ramp-up time again. We think there’s a good chance they’ll at least put on a slightly better face on Monday.
Unlike the Saints, whose face has looked mostly bad of late. In this Tampa vs New Orleans misery matchup, a bet on Under 5 touchdowns is the clear bet of our choice.
Alternatively, the aforementioned under points or even under points by the Saints are conceivable. They will put up a few more points than against San Francisco, but we think it is doubtful that they will break the 17-point mark.
