Do the Seahawks remain a force at home?
The Seahawks host the Raiders and with it a playoff candidate meets a season disappointment. However, the omens are exactly the opposite of pre-season expectations. Playoff candidates are, surprisingly, the Seahawks.
Nevertheless, Seattle is currently coming off a loss to the Buccaneers in the Munich Game, whereas the Raiders were able to pick up one of their few wins last Sunday. In addition, the Hawks had a bye-week after their trip to Germany – so much for the prerequisites.
The bookmakers’ favourites are the Seahawks, who have also only lost one game this season at Lumen Field. However, they should not underestimate the Raiders. Once they get rolling, they can theoretically take on any opponent.
However, since they have shown this too rarely, betting on Las Vegas is risky. Still, our prediction for Seahawks vs Raiders is a battle of equals, with both teams likely to top the 20-point mark.
Kickoff for this NFC vs. AFC matchup is Sunday at 10:05pm in Seattle. The game can be watched live on ENDZN on DAZN.
Seattle Seahawks – Statistics & current form
How did the Seahawks cope with their Germany adventure? After the exhausting trip they had a bye-week, which certainly did them good. Apart from the long-term injuries, no player is currently marked as questionable on their depth chart.
Now it’s at home against the Raiders, against whom they only play very rarely. The conditions are also different than many had expected. For behold: The Hawks are regarded as the favourites by all betting providers.
Bye-Week as push or form stopper?
It’s a little unpredictable, though, how the extended break is now suiting the Seahawks. Week after week, they surprised with performances that some would describe as “overperforming”. Over time, however, they became so normal that Geno Smith, in particular, was expected to do better.
His completion percentage of 72.8 % alone should answer this question, as he leads all starting quarterbacks in the league – by far. With Tua Tagovailoa, only one other quarterback here exceeds the 70 % mark.
Matchup only partially suits Seattle
Assuming the break didn’t hurt them, there are still a few hurdles for Sunday. For one, there’s Josh Jacobs. Seattle always has a harder time against teams with a strong running game. Against the Bucs in Munich, they allowed 161 rushing yards and that was despite Tampa not being the best rushing team before.
That could be a problem against the Raiders. Since the Raiders have only committed seven turnovers (Seattle: 13), the Hawks will have to do it on their own this time. In that respect, we see a very difficult task ahead for Seattle.
For these reasons, we do not recommend betting on Seattle for the Seahawks against the Raiders. Instead, we favour bets on Las Vegas to score at least 20 points, as they have reached this mark in eight of their ten games so far – and they have been in worse shape than they are now.
Key Players:
QB: Geno Smith
RB: Kenneth Walker III
WR: DK Metcalf
TE: Noah Fant
K: Jason Myers
Las Vegas Raiders – Statistics & current form
Last Chance Seattle. That’s about the starting position for the Raiders. Although they are anything but on target with 3-7 wins, the Raiders still have a small playoff chance in this balanced league. One more defeat, however, and that would be gone.
So a win is much more important for them than for the Seahawks. Next up are home games against the Chargers and Patriots and an away game at the Rams. Difficult, but not insurmountable tasks to then stand at 7:7. But first it is important for them to get out of the crisis step by step.
Everything on the Top Guns
Against the Broncos, this “last chance” character was also visible. Instead of using load control, head coach Josh McDaniels went all in on his draft picks. Not a single running back except Josh Jacobs got the ball in his hands even once to run.
As for the receivers, it was mainly Davante Adams (7 catches) and Mack Hollins (6 catches) who were thrown at. The guidelines were clear to put the franchise’s fortunes in the hands of its best players. At least against Denver, this worked out in the end.
Will their defence hold up again like it did against Denver?
This little game won’t change on Sunday. Only the top players will get the ball and are expected to save the season. In the end, they should put up more than 20 points again and then weal and woe will depend on their defence.
They allow an average of 24.2 points, which could almost be too much against Seattle. Since we don’t want to settle on a winner, Vegas 20+ point odds are our favourite betting recommendation on Seahawks vs Raiders. They should definitely get that in this important game.
Key Players:
QB: Derek Carr
RB: Josh Jacobs
WR: Davante Adams
TE: Darren Waller
K: Daniel Carlson
Seattle Seahawks – Las Vegas Raiders Head-to-head comparison / H2H record
Once again, we are looking at an NFC vs AFC clash, which leads to few head-to-head matchups. The direct record (3:2 per Seattle since 2002) is thus less decisive than the current form.
Here, the Raiders come into this game with a hugely important win against the Broncos, which could well give them a boost. We expect a hard-fought game with some points, which is why a bet on over-points is an exciting betting alternative for Seattle vs. Las Vegas.
However, the main bet remains the over 20 points for Las Vegas. Since they will be giving their top players the ball so often, TD bets on Josh Jacobs or Davante Adams are naturally in the draw.
Seattle Seahawks – Las Vegas Raiders Tip
It’s now or never for Las Vegas, and we trust Derek Carr and his offense to live up to that motto. Whether their defence can then add enough to get a win, however, remains a little questionable.
Therefore, a bet on the away team to score more than 20 points is our No.1 bet on the Seahawks vs. Raiders, but if you prefer to bet on a win, we still recommend the Raiders, as they simply have the better odds.
Alternatively, bets on a Davante Adams touchdown are our first additional option. He has thrown five touchdowns in the last three games and is harmonising better and better with his college quarterback Derek Carr.
