In addition, the running game is not strong enough to make up for the deficits.

On defense, the Panthers are solid, allowing just 22.2 points per game. Especially against the passing game Carolina makes a very decent impression and allows only 212.5 passing yards. Against the run game, the problems are a bit bigger, as the team allows an average of 135.7 rushing yards and is thus one of the weaker teams in the NFL.
