Will the Knights get the must-win in Seattle?
Vegas has to go all-in if they want to make the playoffs. They are still one point ahead of the Dallas Stars, but they have played four games less. It is unlikely that they will lose all four of these games.
So every game counts for the Knights right now. Especially when it’s against one of the weakest teams in the league. Points and wins are a must. Even if the Kraken are coming off an outstanding 6:1 against the Kings.
However, this was one of those games where a goalie (in this case, Seattle’s Driedger) overachieved. Especially with the two inconsistent Kraken goalies, we shouldn’t assume that in two games in a row.
In this respect, our forecast for Seattle vs. Vegas is a win for the favoured Golden Knights, although this could even be more pronounced. In addition, both duels so far this season have gone to the Knights – the first two meetings ever in the short history of the Octopus.
First face-off of this Western Conference duel is Thursday night at 04:00 in Seattle.
Seattle Kraken – Statistics & current form
The Kraken can do it after all. In the 6:1 against the Los Angeles Kings they showed a really good performance. Starting with Goalie Driedger, who made 36 saves with a save percentage of 97.3%, to almost every other player.
Except for Kole Lind, every single forward actually managed to put a score on the scoreboard, which is very rare in the NHL. The only player with two scoring points on the night, however, was defenseman Vince Dunn with two assists, which also speaks to a very balanced team effort.
Seattle on the rise lately
This win over LA was the fourth in the last six games, but also the first against a potential playoff team. The other wins came against Montréal, Detroit and Arizona, all of whom have already written off the season.
So the question of their true ability arises and we will probably get that answered on Wednesday. However, since the Kraken haven’t looked particularly good against Vegas so far this season, we expect another loss this time around.
Seattle weaker than Vegas in all areas
Because even though the Golden Knights aren’t having an outstanding season either, they’re actually ahead of the Kraken in all five important categories (power play, penalty killing, face-offs, goals, goals against). Seattle’s goalies also don’t come close to Robin Lehner.
Therefore, there is no reason to believe in the Kraken for Wednesday. For Seattle against Vegas, a tip on the away team is thus our No. 1 betting recommendation.

Vegas Golden Knights – Statistics & current form
Was that the spark for the Golden Knights on Saturday? After trailing 0:3, they turned the game around against Chicago and finally won 4:3 after overtime. That was not only immensely important for the standings, but also for morale.
We can well imagine that they will now play in a completely different way, especially since they will mainly be playing teams in the lower regions of the table in the coming weeks. Six wins in a row from now on wouldn’t surprise us.
Vegas the dark horse of this season
In this respect, the chances of a playoff qualification are not that bad at the moment, even though the Dallas Stars are breathing down their necks. But even Edmonton, Nashville and LA are only a few points behind them, which can be made up in the coming games.
Having to play Vegas in the first round – neither the Avalanche nor the Flames would wish for that. But for that to happen, the following games have to be won first – even though they will be considered the clear favourites in each case.
Offense seems to be revived
Their offence in particular could be enjoying a renaissance with that late surge against the Blackhawks. They scored three goals in less than two minutes and it was already reminiscent of the energy and momentum of recent years.
Overall, they are already back to 3.12 goals per game, which puts them well ahead of their upcoming opponents (Seattle: 2.64). For this reason, the odds on Vegas are clearly to be taken advantage of in Kraken vs. Golden Knights, if necessary even with a slight handicap of -1.

Seattle Kraken – Vegas Golden Knights Head-to-head comparison / H2H record
As mentioned above, this duel has only happened twice in NHL history, which is of course due to the short history of the Kraken. Both previous games went to Vegas, one by a score of 4-3, the other by a score of 4-2.
Four Vegas goals seems like a reasonable number again for Wednesday, but we expect no more than two goals from the Kraken. That also makes betting on Under 6.5 total goals an option.
However, the main bet for Kraken against Knights should be on the away team. Depending on the odds, a slight handicap can also be included or a combination with sub-par points.
Seattle Kraken – Vegas Golden Knights Tip
The Golden Knights score 0.48 more goals per game than the Kraken and also concede 0.50 less. That makes a difference of almost one goal, which we also consider the minimum advantage in favour of the away team for Wednesday.
For Kraken against Knights, a Vegas bet is therefore the bet of choice. It should be noted that this clash will take place again just two days later, for which our prediction should not be much different.
Alternatively, we recommend betting on a goal by Alex Pietrangelo. He scored against the Predators as well as against the Blackhakws and also in the 5:1 against the Kings he immortalised himself in the scoring list.
