A fan fell ill before the start of the match between Milan and Verona. Around noon, he suffered cardiac arrest just before climbing the stairs to the third tier of San Siro Stadium. He is currently in critical condition. An ambulance arrived promptly, and the man was stabilized before being taken to the hospital.
This had already happened at San Siro. Last year, during the Inter-Udinese match, a fan fell ill and the game was interrupted for six minutes. It was December 19, 2024. In that instance as well, the fan was stabilized before being taken away by ambulance. In January 2010, however, a fan died after falling ill during the Milan-Inter derby. He collapsed in the first half, was rushed away, but in the end, the emergency response and medical care proved futile.
