Are the Hawks getting their wings clipped again?

Miami will look to build on their strong performance from the first meeting against the Atlanta Hawks in Game 2 next night. Head coach Nate McMillan’s troops were beaten 115-91 via blowout.

Miami Heat – Statistics & current form

The Florida franchise finished the regular season in first place in the East and showed in the first game of the series that they deserved that ranking. With a cohesive team performance, the Hawks were not given the slightest chance.

Duncan Robinson was particularly convincing for Head Coach Erik Spoelstra’s team: the shooting guard sank eight of his nine attempts from downtown for the three-time champions. With this output, he set a new franchise record in Miami! At the end of the game Robinson had 27 points and that as a bench player!

Atlanta Hawks – Statistics & current form

The Hawks had to be more tired in the game as they were still playing the play-in tournament in the East beforehand to still qualify for the 2022 postseason. However, this physical shortcoming cannot be considered an alibi for the very weak performance in the opening game of the series against Miami.

The basketball players from Georgia never really found their way into the game. A synonym was the anaemic performance of Trae Young, who only put eight points on the scoreboard. The guard has not yet scored fewer points this season.

Miami Heat – Atlanta Hawks Tip

For the clash between Miami Heat and Atlanta Hawks in Game 2, the tip aims for another clear home win with at least a seven-point difference. The home side are very strong at home and have dominated the 1958 champions at will.

The normally very efficient Hotlanta attack, which had the second-best record in the league during the regular season, was largely neutralised by highly concentrated defensive work.

Even with some adaptations in the match plan on the part of the guests for the upcoming game, this qualitative difference can hardly be compensated. In addition, the Hawks will once again have to play without their top centre Clint Capela.
