Do the Bills remain the measure of all things?

Touchdown festivals on both sides or just one – that is the question in this very special AFC East duel between the Miami Dolphins and the Buffalo Bills. But it is foreseeable that there will be a few trips to the end zone.

However, the Dolphins will most likely not get slaughtered like last year, when they went down 0:35 at home. This year, they and quarterback Tua Tagovailoa seem to be stronger – especially mentally.

Against Baltimore the previous week, they came back from a 21-point deficit before the fourth quarter to score 28 points in the final period. With this performance, they can also stand up to the Bills.

However, Buffalo is still the favourite, the way they are cruising through the season so far. For Dolphins vs. Bills, our prediction is not a blowout win, but a much closer game than the Bills have had so far this season. They should still win in the end though.

Kickoff in this AFC East clash is Sunday at 7:00 pm in Miami, Florida. The game can be watched live on ProSieben, on ran.de and on DAZN ENDZN.

Miami Dolphins – Statistics & current form

How strong are the Dolphins really? Going into the season as secret favourites, many had already dismissed them as a “bust” halfway through their game against the Ravens. The amazing comeback gives their fans hope again that more could be possible this year.

Especially the signing of Tyreek Hill is already paying off, he had a monster game against Baltimore with 190 yards and two touchdowns. Along with Jaylen Waddle, who rushed for 171 yards and two touchdowns, the Fins now have one of the best wide receiver duos in the league.

Defense challenged against Buffalo

While Miami’s defence has been upgraded with the addition of Ingram and Flowers, there wasn’t much to see from those two against Baltimore. The total of 38 points conceded was clearly too many.

They won’t be able to put up 42 points offensively in every game, especially not against this Bills defence, which is considered top 3 in the league. With 215 yards conceded and 8.5 points conceded on average, they rank second in the NFL in both stats.

So we see the disadvantages for Miami mainly on defence. If they go without a sack and even a single QB press here like they did against the Ravens, Josh Allen will pick the Dolphins apart nicely.

Touchdowns instead of field goals

Meanwhile, the Bills have become something like the Chiefs of recent years. A high scoring team that only their own scoring can help against. Thus, the Dolphins will be wary of taking too many field goals and prefer to play off fourth down attempts as well.

Since the Bills are also known for scoring touchdowns rather than field goals, we don’t expect the kickers to be too busy on Sunday. There have also never been more than three field goals in the last eight head-to-head matchups.

For Dolphins vs. Bills, a bet on Under 4 Field Goals is almost a Must Bet at this quite acceptable value of 1.86.

Key Players:
QB: Tua Tagovailoa
RB: Chase Edmonds
WR: Tyreek Hill
TE: Mike Gesicki
K: Jason Sanders

Buffalo Bills – stats & current form

The Bills are “for real” this season. So the odds on a Super Bowl success of the team from Buffalo sink from game day to game day. In the meantime, they are only at 5.00 and thus already three points lower than for the following team from Kansas City.

This does not come as a surprise, especially when we look at the way they defeat their opponents. Tough defence and lots of long drives up front, most of which end in a touchdown. That’s what perfect football looks like.

How long can the Bills keep this level up?

Of course, it’s also almost clear this season that there will be no 17-0 season – that would be a huge sensation. That’s why the question is when the Bills and Josh Allen will also have a slightly weaker day. These days were more frequent in the preseason.

On paper, the Dolphins are out of the question, as they have won their last seven matches against them. But in the NFL, it’s usually these clear-cut duels in which the favourite drops a few percentage points off the gas.

If Josh Allen keeps up the form he had against Tennessee (317 yards, 4 touchdowns, passer rating of 128.9), it will work against Miami. However, they are also good offensively, so it could be a real slugfest.

Touchdowns instead of field goals

As has been the case with the Chiefs in recent years, the main reason for their high scoring offense (36.0 points per game, NFL rank 1) is their touchdown productivity. In general, Bills games are not necessarily for field goal romantics.

In each of Buffalo’s two games so far, they have only scored a total of two. The same goes for Dolphins games, by the way, which is why Miami vs. Buffalo is definitely one to take advantage of the odds on under 4 Field Golas.

Key Players:
QB: Josh Allen
RB: Devin Singletary
WR: Stefon Diggs
TE: Dawson Knox

Miami Dolphins – Buffalo Bills Head-to-head comparison / H2H record

The head-to-head comparison between these two teams is clear. The last seven duels have all gone to Buffalo, six of these seven games even by double-digit margins. This makes betting on Buffalo – 6 an obvious choice.

However, this doesn’t quite factor in Miami’s new strength, which is why we’re only putting this bet out as No.2 of our recommendations. We see the absence of many field goals as even more bettable.

Due to the expected high scoring game (at least from the Bills side), over bets are also an alternative, although the Fins would also have to play into this. However, since we believe that, a bet on Over 52.5 total points is still interesting for Dolphins vs. Bills.

Miami Dolphins – Buffalo Bills Tip

The Bills are the clear favourites and will win the game in the end. However, with Miami’s comeback qualities, the -6 points handicap is a bit too much for us to recommend as a top bet. Of course, this tip is still bettable.

Our favourite forecast for Miami vs. Buffalo is Under 4 Field Goals, as both teams have not even come close to this number in their previous games. In head-to-head matchups, that number hasn’t been seen in eight games.

Betting on a Tyreek Hill or Stephon Diggs touchdown is also viable as an alternative. Both have found the end zone multiple times this season (Diggs: 4 TD, Hill: 2 TD) and should be able to do the same in Sunday’s expected high scoring game. Still, we recommend staying under four touchdowns for Miami Dolphins vs. Buffalo Bills betting odds.
