Who will win the top duel in the AFC East?
The comeback kids from game day 1 meet in our Dolphins vs Bills betting tip. It is also a real top game in the AFC East and therefore not unimportant for the standings.
The Dolphins were already down 14-0 against the Jaguars the previous week and the Bills were down 17-3 against the Cardinals, but both teams really turned it on and both come into this game with a lot of confidence
In the previous year, it was exactly this duel in Miami that ensured that the Bills won the division and the Fins then had to play the Chiefs in playoff round 1 – where they also had to make the final stop.
In January, the game went to the Bills 21-14 and so our prediction for Miami vs. Buffalo this season is a win for Josh Allen’s men. They have a very good record against top teams, whereas the Dolphins often stumble against the top 10 teams in the league
Kickoff of this Thursday Night Game of Game Day 2 is at 02:20 on Friday night in Miami. The game can be watched live on DAZN.
Miami Dolphins – Statistics & current form
From the handcuffs to the end zone – that would be a perfect headline for Tyreek Hill’s last NFL Sunday. He was arrested by a police officer in the morning, then released and was one of the decisive men in the afternoon against the Jags.
With a total of 130 yards and a touchdown, he was instrumental in the Fins’ comeback. The other comeback guarantors were Waddle with 109 yards, Tagovailoa with a QB rating of 101.0 and Jason Sanders, who kicked a 51-yard field goal with the clock running out to win the game.
Running game still pale
With this we have already listed the strongest players from week 1. Surprisingly not included this time: a running back. Both Raheem Mostert and De’Von Achane remained surprisingly pale throughout the entire game.
Mostert only managed a total of nine yards on six running attempts. The Dolphins’ showpiece from the preseason has not yet arrived in the season, which could now become a problem against the Bills.
Tips to favor Bills
Back in January, the Bills took away most of this big strength from the Dolphins, allowing just 108 rushing yards. They scored 128 themselves, which also won the running game. Should the Bills also win the running game on Thursday, then we clearly predict an away win here.
We also see Allen’s strength as a rusher as the point that could decide the duel. Tua (against the Jags with only 11 rushing yards) is clearly inferior here and so for Miami vs. Buffalo a bet on the Bills is in our eyes the number 1 bet for Thursday.
Key Players:
- QB: Tua Tagovailoa
- RB: Raheem Mostert
- WR: Tyreek Hill
- WR: Jaylen Waddle
- K: Jason Sanders
Buffalo Bills – stats & current form
The Bills got off to a very weak start to the season and all the critics were already rubbing their hands together at halftime of the game against the Cardinals. But then came the third quarter and the Bills did Bills things again – whether with Stephon Diggs or without him.
In the end, they picked up where they left off in the preseason, winning all six of their final regular-season games. Josh Allen shone after the false start both as a passer (2 TD with no interceptions) and as a runner (2 touchdowns).
Josh Allen carries the team
Mockers will say the Bills aren’t a good team without Allen, but they have him. And he will start against the Dolphins, which makes them the favorites in this game, even if the oddsmakers have a slightly different opinion.
But the Bills weren’t that weak as a team on Sunday. It is precisely this team effort without a great first pass option that could develop into a strength. A total of nine players caught a pass against Arizona, five players even caught several.
This has also made them less predictable after Stephon Diggs. One of their best weapons, Dalton Kincaid, wasn’t really in the game against the Cards, for example. We expect a clear increase in performance and production from him
Tips on Kincaid also possible
So we see Kincaid as an increased target in Miami, which also makes TD bets on the tight end an interesting option. Another player bet is of course a TD bet on Tyreek Hill, for whom we no longer get high odds in the meantime.
With all this offensive power from both teams, over-points are also still in play as an alternative. Thus, the odds of over 50.5 points for Miami vs. Buffalo are a tip that can be considered in addition to the previous suggestions.
Key Players:
- QB: Josh Allen
- RB: James Cook
- WR: Khalil Shakir
- TE: Dalton Kincaid
- K: Tyler Bass
Miami Dolphins – Buffalo Bills head-to-head comparison / H2H record
We already mentioned this duel in January. Back then, the game was for the division title and the Bills turned the game around in the fourth quarter to win 21-14 in the end. Overall, the score in the last four duels is 4:0 in favor of Buffalo.
At that time, however, both teams were really shaken by injuries at the end of the season and were already running on fumes. That’s different now, which is why we expect a few more points than back then.
The odds of over 50.5 total points for Dolphins vs Bills are just as good as for a Buffalo win. The Bills are considered the slight underdogs by the bookmakers – probably due to the home advantage for Miami. However, this wasn’t a big issue in this battle in January either
Miami Dolphins – Buffalo Bills betting tip
29.2 points scored per game by the Dolphins in the preseason, 26.5 points by the Bills. This is one reason why we see over-points as a betting option here. However, the still fluctuating form of the Fins makes us lean in a different direction than betting tip number 1.
Miami may have won on the first matchday, but convincing looks different. Thus, for Dolphins vs. Bills, a bet on Buffalo at great odds beyond the 2.00 mark is our top betting recommendation for the Thursday Night Game.
As Player Bets, we have both a TD bet on Tyreek Hill and on Dalton Kinkaid as our recommendation. The first option is slightly more likely, but we get much better odds for the second one.
