Can the Panthers close the deal at home?
The Florida Panthers are close to a huge coup. Because in our Panthers vs Oilers betting tip for Game 5, they still have the very best chance of winning their first Stanley Cup in franchise history.
Nobody would be talking about the fact that they were taken apart like that in Game 4. In that respect, the Panthers still hold all the aces, especially when we consider how the first two games in Florida played out.
The Oilers had little to play for and if Sergei Bobrovsky performs as well as he did in those games, the Panthers are all but assured of the Stanley Cup. They also seem to be much more consistent during this postseason. Two weak games in a row have never happened to the Panthers in these playoffs.
That’s why our prediction for Florida vs. Edmonton is another home win for Matthew Tkachuk’s men, who should win the Cup. Since the Oilers will throw everything forward when trailing, it could even be a somewhat clearer success again
Florida Panthers – Statistics & current form
The Panthers went all Boston Celtics and completely dropped Game 4. On the one hand understandable after the early deficit, on the other hand not entirely risk-free, as they may now have sparked the Oilers’ self-confidence.
Nevertheless, we still see Florida as the clear favorite for the Cup. Based on their previous games, it seems unlikely that the Canadiens will be able to bring this intensity to their opponents now
Bobrovsky will be back
So there it was, Sergei Bobrovsky’s first real off-game in these playoffs. Just 68.8% save percentage was a subterranean figure that could even cost him his chances of winning the Finals MVP title.
However, Bobrovsky is now very likely to bounce back. Why? Because the figurehead is always one size stronger at home and because he hasn’t had two weak games in a row in these playoffs – and neither has the entire Panthers team
Tips on Florida to recommend
After a 1:8 defeat, you might think that betting on a home win this time is to be avoided. But we think exactly the opposite. This result will wake them up once again and the Panthers will be just as aggressive and clinical as they were in their first two home games.
Edmonton may score one more goal now with their newfound confidence, but we expect at least three Panthers goals at the same time. So the odds on a Panthers win in Florida vs Edmonton are clearly recommended despite the latest setback.

Edmonton Oilers – Statistics & current form
With the 8-1 victory, the Oilers have finally arrived in the NHL Finals. Too late? Most likely already. Many experts felt transported back to the 2017 Stanley Cup Playoffs when the Oilers faced the Anaheim Ducks in the conference semi-finals.
They were behind then too and then delivered an absolute demonstration of power at home. The score was 7:1 at Rogers Place – the Oilers literally played the Ducks to the wall.
Then came the next and then decisive Game 7 in Anaheim. The Ducks played down the game 2-1 with good defense and strong nerves and secured the series win. Something similar could happen again on Tuesday night
Difficult starting position for Edmonton
Because the Oilers and many other NHL teams find it extremely difficult to maintain such a high level. The last time the Oilers scored at least eight goals of their own was back in April in a 9-2 loss to the Sharks. They then lost the following game by a clear 2-5 margin against the Coyotes.
Before that, they had an 8-3 loss to the Sabres in March – followed by a 3-6 loss to the Maple Leafs.
Again, a month before that, the Oilers won 8-4 against the Red Wings and also lost the following game 3-6 to the Blues. That alone shows how difficult it is to completely move on from such a result in the upcoming game.
Tipping the Oilers is tricky
The oddsmakers also see the Panthers as favorites now, but due to their convincing success in Game 4, the Oilers are not that far behind them this time. We even see the Panthers slightly ahead – we discussed the psychological reasons for this earlier.
In this respect, a tip on the Panthers is our betting recommendation for Florida against Edmonton – despite the slightly lower value. However, if we trust them to decide the game after regulation time – which we do – then there are still good odds of up to 2.25.
Key Players:

Florida Panthers – Edmonton Oilers head-to-head / H2H record
The Oilers have finally defeated their nemesis and, after five consecutive losses, have managed a win against the Panthers. However, they are still 1-3 in the series and 1-5 in their last six games.
How high do we rate the current momentum, which should be on the Oilers’ side? Rather secondary, as the above-mentioned experiences with Edmonton have shown. It’s doubtful that the team will be at 100% mentally right away.
The odds on the first goal for Florida in the Panthers v Oilers game are also worth a bet. We expect the Panthers (like the Oilers recently) to come out on the ice with a completely different body language
Florida Panthers – Edmonton Oilers betting tip
In the previous game, we correctly predicted the advantages for Edmonton, but not the goal scorers. Since anyone can score on either side at the moment, we are moving away from Player Bets again and going for a traditional win bet.
We expect the Panthers to put the lid on the game in front of their own fans, so our number 1 betting option for Panthers vs Oilers is a win for the hosts after regulation time
Alternatively, betting on over-goals is still an option. With the Oilers finally getting in on the scoring action, the 5.5 goal total looks attainable again on Tuesday.
