Does Chizzy advance to the next round?

Previous year’s semi-finalist Gabriel Clemens has made a successful start to the 2024 World Darts Championship. The Saarland native successfully defeated Man Lok Leung in the second round of the World Championship, putting an early end to the hype surrounding the youngster from Hong Kong. In the third round of the World Championship, he now faces a test of his maturity against Dave Chisnall.

This match-up already took place at the German Darts Championship 2023 – with Clemens as the lucky winner. “Chizzy” now gets the chance for revenge and is favored by the bookmakers. For a Chisnall vs. Clemens bet on the Englishman, odds of only 1.65 are currently on offer.

Like Clemens, Chisnall also came through the second round of the World Championship unscathed. The Englishman won his second round duel against Menzies 3:1. “Chizzy” benefited in part from his opponent’s disastrous performance. Menzies only hit seven of his 34 throws on the doubles

“Chizzy” will have to improve significantly to overcome the third round against Clemens. An average of 90.94 – as in the match against Menzies – may not be enough to defeat the “German Giant”. Nevertheless, our Chisnall vs. Clemens betting tip is aimed at the Englishman

Dave Chisnall – Statistics & current form

Dave Chisnall is taking part in the World Darts Championship for the 13th time in his career. The Englishman’s best result so far was his semi-final appearance at the 2021 World Championships in London. Back then, Chisnall was defeated by Gary Anderson in the semi-finals and narrowly missed out on reaching his first World Championship final.

Since then, “Chizzy” has flown under the radar at the World Championships. Two years ago, Chisnall had to bow out in the third round of the World Darts Championship. Last year, he also had to bow out in the third round at the Ally Pally, although the defeat to a player like Stephen Bunting – who had an average of 102.24 – will have to be dealt with.

This time, Chisnall is out to make amends. However, Clemens was no easy hurdle for the Englishman. “Chizzy” already lost out to the German darts pro in the German Darts Championship 2023, losing 2:6. In the four previous H2hs, however, Chisnall emerged victorious

Does Chizzy get his revenge against Clemens?

According to the statistics over the last two months, Chisnall certainly has the potential to cause a sensation at the World Championship in London. The Englishman has only suffered four defeats in his last 21 matches. Two of these four defeats came at the 2023 Grand Slam, where “Chizzy” was eliminated in the group stage.

Since then, he has won four of his last five matches, with the only surprising defeat coming against Luke Woodhouse in the 2023 Players Championship Finals. In these five matches, Chisnall’s worst average was a 90.68 in his victory over Stowe Buntz (5-4).

The 2024 World Championship started for “Chizzy” with an average of 90.94 with six 180s against Cameron Menzies. Chisnall had a double rate of 31.03%, with a 68 being the highest checkout for the Englishman. Instead, the world number eleven was the beneficiary of his opponent’s poor performance in his lackluster win over Menzies

Gabriel Clemens – Statistics & current form

Gabriel Clemens started the 2024 World Championships with a solid 3:1 win over Man Lok Leung. Clemens had the worse average over five sets against the youngster from Hong Kong and also threw fewer 180s. Nevertheless, the well-deserved victory was achieved, which was partly due to the “German Giants'” solid double rate.

Nine of 17 throws at the doubles were converted, giving Clemens a checkout rate of 52.94%. His opponent Leung, on the other hand, “only” achieved a double quota of 37.50%. Clemens now tackles the hurdle in the third round of the 2024 World Championship with a broad chest. The Saarland native won against his upcoming opponent “Chizzy” just a few months ago at the GDC 2023.

Clemens defeated Dave Chisnall 6:2 in the last 32 of the German Darts Championship 2023 and celebrated his first win in the H2h against the Englishman. The “German Giant” had an impressive average of 100.99 and hit almost half of his checkout attempts

Clemens with the next fairytale at the World Darts Championship?

Clemens set a new record last year by reaching the semi-finals at the 2023 World Championships in London. The “German Giant” only had to bow out against the eventual tournament winner Michael Smith, losing 2:6. In his four previous World Championship appearances, however, his best result was the fourth round of the World Championship, which Clemens reached against Krzysztof Ratajski in 2020.

This year, Clemens was difficult to assess and repeatedly struggled with form crises. It is therefore difficult to predict how far he will go this time at the World Championships in London. If the “German Giant” is on his A-game, Gabriel Clemens can once again be expected to do well at the World Championships. However, a fairytale similar to that of the 2023 World Cup is rather unrealistic

Dave Chisnall – Gabriel Clemens Direct comparison / H2H result

Dave Chisnall and Gabriel Clemens meet for the sixth time in total. In the five previous encounters, “Chizzy” prevailed four times against Clemens. However, Clemens won only one of these five matches – the most recent duel in the German Darts Championship 2023. Clemens prevailed 6:2 against Chisnall

Dave Chisnall – Gabriel Clemens tip

“Chizzy” celebrated three tournament wins this year as part of the European Tour 2023. However, the Englishman largely flew under the radar at the 2023 Majors. It is therefore all the more important for the world number eleven to impress at the 2024 World Championships. Dave Chisnall has already made a successful start to the prestigious tournament against Menzies.

As in the two previous years, “Chizzy” is once again represented in the third round of the World Championship. Chisnall did not make it through to the fourth round at either the 2022 or 2023 World Championships. Now it’s time for the next attempt. The Englishman will have to defeat the “German Giant” Gabriel Clemens. It would also be revenge for “Chizzy” for his defeat at the GDC 2023

If you look at his form over the last two months, Chisnall has a realistic chance of knocking the “German Giant” out of the tournament. It is understandable that “Chizzy” approaches the showdown against Clemens as the favorite. Chisnall has won four of the last five H2hs anyway, giving him a psychological advantage over the Saarland native.

Our Chisnall vs Clemens betting tip aims for a win for “Chizzy” at reasonable odds. We choose a confident stake of seven units. The best odds are offered by Interwetten
