Do the Cowboys hold their own at home?
Home sweet home is the motto for the Cowboys again on Saturday when they face the Lions in our Dallas vs. They are always a completely different team at home and they haven’t lost a single game at AT&T Stadium this season.
For the Lions, on the other hand, it doesn’t matter where they play, as they have only lost two games both at home and away. This means they currently have a better record in the NFC than the Cowboys. Who would have thought that two years ago?
However, the question of who is the favorite is easy to answer in favor of the Boys, who are simply a force at home and also put up an average of 39.8 points there. Since the Lions also have a lot going for them offensively, we expect a high-scoring game in this matchup.
Our prediction for Cowboys vs. Lions is a home win for the Boys in a game in which the 50 total points are likely to be exceeded. Nevertheless, the Lions can be expected to make life very difficult for Dallas and hold out until the end
Kickoff for this NFC top game is at 02:20 on Sunday night in Dallas. The game can be watched live on DAZN.
Dallas Cowboys – Statistics & current form
The Cowboys are simply not the Cowboys away from home, but always play there with the F-youth from FC Kleinkleckersdorf. At least that’s how it always seems, as they make inexplicable mistakes there and regularly lose, especially against top teams.
Head coach Mike McCarthy must also be held responsible for this, as he increasingly seems to be exactly the block on the boys’ leg that is holding them back from a major triumph. Without him, they would be one of the top favorites for the Super Bowl in our eyes
The playcalling is disastrous
On the very first drive, McCarthy ran the ball at the 1-yard line with the rookie fullback, who has yet to score a single touchdown in the NFL. Instead of simply putting the ball in the hands of the experienced Tony Pollard – who would have had three attempts at a touchdown.
He also made the same mistake on the final drive when he tried to let Dak Prescott throw from the 1-yard line – again on the first attempt! McCarthy will again be their biggest weakness on Saturday, which they’ll have to cover up somehow.
Offense of the Cowboys individually strong as a bear
They should be able to do that, as they are averaging 39.8 points at AT&T Stadium. No other team has been able to keep up with them this season. The Seahawks came closest with 35, while we also think Detroit can score over 30 points, but their defense is probably too vulnerable to make the difference in the end.
So for Cowboys vs. Lions the odds on Dallas + over points are an excellent combination, as both options are very likely to happen. As I said, the only one who can stop the Cowboys right now is their coach Mike McCarthy.
Key Players:
- QB: Dak Prescott
- RB: Tony Pollard
- WR: CeeDee Lamb
- TE: Jake Ferguson
- K: Brandon Aubrey
Detroit Lions – stats & current form
The Lions won the NFC North – for the first time ever. The last time they won a division (1993), their division was called the NFC Central. It’s been a long, long time, but their success this season is well deserved.
Although they have had a few error-strewn games in recent weeks, they have still managed to win the majority of them. With 11:4 wins, they are currently even one better than the Cowboys, who have a 10:5 record
Lions are turnover prone
In order to make it to the playoffs, however, they have to get a grip on their turnovers. They currently have a turnover ratio of -2 in the league. They have already forced 19 turnovers and lost 21 balls.
Their opponents from Dallas, by comparison, have a +8 record and have only lost the ball 13 times. That could make the difference on Saturday, even if the Lions can keep up with Dallas offensively. In the decisive moments, Dak Prescott is simply one step better than Jared Goff
Bets on Detroit are dangerous
For this very reason, betting on the Lions in Dallas vs Detroit should be avoided. Even their medium handicap of +6 is very risky for betting, as the Cowboys eat up their opponents by more than 20 points at home from time to time – even good teams.
Therefore, bets on Dallas are favored as well as bets on over-points, as both teams are considered to be point suppliers. A combination of these two tips opens up very good opportunities for us, also in terms of value.
Key Players:
- QB: Jared Goff
- RB: David Montgomery
- WR: Amon-Ra St. Brown
- TE: Sam LaPorta
- K: Michael Badgley
Dallas Cowboys – Detroit Lions head-to-head comparison / H2H record
The last five head-to-head meetings have all gone to the Cowboys, including the clash at the same venue just over a year ago. Back then, Dallas won quite clearly with 24:6, albeit in a rather low-scoring game.
This score is likely to be pulverized on Saturday, as the Boys alone are already averaging 39.8 points at home. Detroit is also averaging a good 27.5 points on the season, so over-points are definitely in play in this matchup.
However, player bets are also possible in this game. CeeDee Lamb in particular has shown why he was a first-round piack recently, scoring nine touchdowns this season – each one more impressive than the last
Dallas Cowboys – Detroit Lions tip
“There’s no better place to be than at home” applies to no team this season more than the Cowboys. 7-0 wins, 39.8 points on average. It would take quite a collapse on Saturday for them to lose at home this season.
Although the Lions are a very strong team this year, they have shown some defensive gaps of late. Dallas could exploit these gaps mercilessly, which makes a bet on Dallas + Over 48 total points the bet of our choice for Cowboys vs. Lions
Alternatively, we have already brought a Player Bet on CeeDee Lamb into play. But there is also a wide receiver on the Lions’ side who is currently on fire: Amon-Ra St. Brown. He has scored a TD in three of the last four games and already has eight touchdowns this season
