Cavaliers with compulsory task

The Cleveland Cavaliers face a comparatively easy opponent in the form of the Orlando Magic. The guests do not occupy more than the last place in the East.

In addition, the Florida franchise has only won one of its ten games away from home – the weakest record in the Eastern Conference.

The fact that they have already lost 92-103 to the Cavs in their only meeting so far this season does not give the visitors much hope. The following is an NBA tip from today for the new game between the Cleveland Cavaliers and Orlando Magic!

Cleveland Cavaliers – Statistics & current form

The Cavs are extremely strong at home: The Ohio basketball team has only failed to win one of its ten home games at Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse.

Only Boston, the leader in the East, tops this record with eleven wins and one loss.

The defence of head coach J.B. Bickerstaff’s team is also strong. No other team allows fewer points per game! Recently, however, the hosts had to do without their centre Jarrett Allen due to injury.

Without the in-form 24-year-old, who has a season-long double-double in points and boards, the defence is now at least somewhat weakened.

Garland turns it up extra at Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse

Further, Darius Garland is particularly efficient in home games. Admittedly, the guard has about three minutes more playing time per game in the home matches compared to the performances away from home.

But this does not explain the very big difference in the scoring balances. He records a whopping 31 points in the home games, while away it is 16.4!

Rather, the field goal rate is very different – it is almost 20 per cent higher in the matches in front of the home fans.

Orlando Magic – Statistics & current form

While the hosts have a strong defence, seventh in the corresponding rating, Orlando’s offence stands out due to its lack of efficiency.

The average of 108 points per game is only undercut by the LA Clippers. At least the “first pick” Paolo Banchero has been available again for four games.

The power forward is well in the running for the title of “Rookie of the Year” due to very strong performances.

Even the seven games he missed in the meantime have not dampened his form. Since his comeback, he has averaged around 20 points in four games – a yield that is only slightly below his seasonal value of 22.7 points per game.

Cleveland Cavaliers – Orlando Magic Tip

In the clash between the Cleveland Cavaliers and Orlando Magic, the forecast includes less than 25.5 points by Donovan Mitchell on the home side.

The guard, who was brought over from Utah in the summer, presents himself as strong with the Cavs as he did in the Mormon State, but this time his scoring output should drop a little.

In the comparatively easy task against Orlando, the weakest team in the East away from home, he is expected to see less playing time as the second guard will be used more in this assignment.

Moreover, unlike Garland, “Spida” is weaker in the backcourt at home than away from home. This can be seen in the fact that his scoring value is three points higher for the same number of minutes played in away games.
