Who will win the duel of the high scoring offenses?

Offense is trump is the motto under which the game of the Ravens and the Bills will stand on Sunday. With Baltimore and Buffalo, two of the three teams that have scored the most points so far (Ravens: 99, Bills: 91) will meet.

Since the Bills also have a top 4 defence, the signs for this game are clear: the Bills are the favourites. Even the close and unfortunate defeat against Miami last weekend doesn’t change that.

It’s almost impossible to stop these Bills from scoring and if they do, they do it themselves through bad decisions or fumbles. For the Ravens, however, the scoring is almost solely on the shoulders of Lamar Jackson.

This dependence on the Ravens makes them look much more predictable than Buffalo, which is why our prediction for Ravens vs. Bills is an away win for quarterback Josh Allen’s team.

Kickoff of this AFC duel is on Sunday at 7:00 pm in Baltimore. The game can be watched live on ProSieben, on ran.de and on DAZN ENDZN.

Baltimore Ravens – Statistics & current form

Both teams have one thing in common: their only loss to date came against the Dolphins. And there is another parallel, because in both cases it was a close and extremely unlucky defeat.

The Ravens even led 28-7 at half-time before collapsing, especially defensively, after the break. The Bills, on the other hand, never led by much, but also threw away success through bad decisions and missed opportunities.

Which offense stays hot?

33.0 points per game, 99 points total so far. No other offence has produced more, so the Ravens should also become the first team to surpass the 100-point mark on Sunday. But will that be enough against the Bills?

For one thing, they score almost as much, and for another, they can also defend really well. Baltimore has also been more of a one-man show so far. Lamar Jackson has been involved in all of the Ravens’ 12 touchdowns to date, either as a passer or a rusher.

This dependence does not exist with any other NFL team (most likely with the Eagles and Jalen Hurts). Thus, we expect opposing defenses to start assigning a special safety to Jackson soon, both for the pass rush and should he run.

Do the Ravens have a Plan B?

The Patriots last game were just too weak to stop Jackson, but the Bills could very well do that. The question then becomes what is the Ravens’ fallback plan? More running game over Hill or Dobbins? They still combined for 83 rushing yards last Sunday.

Still, we see a Baltimore weakness here that could be exposed mercilessly against the Bills. If Buffalo’s defence doesn’t rise above, then betting against the Ravens is the more promising option for Baltimore vs Buffalo.

Key Players:
QB: Lamar Jackson
RB: J. K. Dobbins
WR: Rashod Bateman
TE: Mark Andrews
K: Justin Tucker

Buffalo Bills – stats & current form

The Bills’ first loss came on Game Day 3, which was a bit of a surprise after their previous performances. But it just goes to show that Josh Allen and this offense are human – just as we’ve experienced with Pat Mahomes and the Chiefs in years past.

Nevertheless, they will remain the measure of all things offensively in the future. We strongly expect them to be the best offense in the league by the end of the season (assuming Allen doesn’t get hurt).

Bills with an extra dose of motivation

The pictures after the dramatic loss in Miami went around the world and also through social media. Bills offensive coordinator Ken Dorsey was flinging his tablet and lots of other things around his coaching booth, because it was already an extremely unfortunate loss.

It’s rare to see time run out and therefore not even a kick can be made. But that was just one of numerous mistakes Buffalo allowed themselves that day (dropped interceptions, a missed field goal, a fumble).

Should they act so erratically again against the Ravens, it could be another defeat. However, we expect the Bills to be much more focused and eager to make up for their misfortunes last game day – especially Josh Allen.

High scoring game expected

Although their offense was held to 19 points against Miami, we expect another high scoring game on Sunday. When two of the top three offenses meet, this prediction is not rocket science.

Thus, for Ravens vs. Bills, the odds on over-points are just as playable as the odds on the Bills. A combination of these two options also lends itself, with our No. 1 bet being a tip on Buffalo -3.

Key Players:
QB: Josh Allen
RB: Devin Singletary
WR: Stefon Diggs
TE: Dawson Knox
K: Tyler Bass

Baltimore Ravens – Buffalo Bills Head-to-head comparison / H2H record

When we look at the current offenses of these teams, the recent results seem downright strange. Just 34.4 points have been scored on average in the last five meetings.

Three of those last five games went to the Ravens, but the last one in 2021 went to the Bills. Back then, the two teams faced each other in the first playoff round and a true defensive scalpel (17:3) ensued.

But firstly, both teams were defined by their defence and secondly, these were the playoffs. However, since this statistic could give us very slight doubts about over-points, we favour a bet on Buffalo -3. on Ravens vs Bills.

Baltimore Ravens – Buffalo Bills Tip

The Bills were our Super Bowl favourites before the game against Miami and they still are afterwards. The same goes for Sunday’s game against the Ravens. We also haven’t seen two weaker games from Josh Allen in quite some time.

So on Baltimore vs Buffalo, a tip on Bills -3 is our preferred betting option, followed by halftime/final score bets on them. Over-points also remain a recommended option despite these recent low-scoring head-to-head duels.

Betting on individual players is also always a good play in an expected high scoring game. Here we recommend betting on a touchdown by Lamar Jackson or Stefon Diggs.
