Can the Bucs pull off another surprise in Atlanta?

NFC South – here we go again, as it is already the second divisional duel in a row for the Falcons. Our Atlanta vs. Tampa Bay tip is therefore also extremely important for the table. The winner will at least be in the lead in the division after this matchday.

It’s very difficult to say who that will be in this close division, because every interception or fumble can make the difference in these duels. If it comes down to that, it should be the Buccaneers, because they are +3 better than their rivals in the turnover ratio so far.

The Falcons, however, have a home game and the extreme feeling of luck of a game winner with the clock running down. So there are good reasons for both sides to consider them the favorites – the betting providers have Atlanta ahead by -2.5 points.

That, in turn, is a bit too much for us and for Falcons vs. Buccaneers, our prediction is a 50-50 duel in which quite a few points are likely to be scored. This makes Player Bets interesting and we firmly expect another touchdown from Chris Godwin.

Kickoff of this very important NFC South matchup is on Thursday night at 2:15 a.m. in Atlanta. The game can be watched live on DAZN.

Atlanta Falcons – Statistics & current form

Division duel Number one has been won, now it’s time for number two. After the Saints is before the Buccaneers, and the task is not really going to get any easier. Tampa is currently leading the division with 3-1 wins and recently beat the Eagles 33-16.

One more reason why we can’t quite understand the Falcons’ clear favorite status. Of course, Kirk Cousins, Bijan Robinson and Co. are always good for a touchdown or two, but against the Saints, for example, they didn’t stand out and their defense had to score the points.

All on a knife’s edge

If there’s one thing we’ve learned from the Falcons’ games so far, it’s that they never end clearly. Each of their final scores so far has been within one point, against the Eagles it was only one point and against the Saints two points.

Their two wins, of all things, were by no more than two points. This makes their handicap of 2.5 to 3 points all the more surprising. Atlanta vs. Tampa, the odds on the Buccaneers +2.5 are also very playable here.

Tips on Falcons to avoid

If we want to bet on the Falcons, then the only option is to bet on Younghoe Koo making a lot of field goals. The kicker has so far converted all of his nine field goal attempts, giving him 2.25 field goals per game.

This makes betting on over 1.5 field goals by Atlanta a bet we can recommend as an alternative for the Falcons against the Bucs.

Key Players:

  • QB: Kirk Cousins
  • RB: Bijan Robinson
  • WR: Drake London
  • TE: Kyle Pitts
  • K: Younghoe Koo

Tampa Bay Buccaneers – statistics & current form

Baker Mayfield is playing better than ever. After falling out of favor with the Browns and then only partially convincing with the Panthers and the Rams, he has now finally played his way into the top ten quarterbacks in Tampa.

Just as was expected from the beginning of his career. A completion rate of 70.5%, a passer rating of 106.9 and 984 passing yards so far – all top seven values, the last two even top four.

Godwin and Evans are also enjoying a second spring

But of course, a successful quarterback also needs good receivers. Here, Mayfield has two in his squad in Godwin and Evans who have already led Tom Brady to a Super Bowl. At least they helped back then and they are doing so again now.

Chris Godwin has 322 yards and three touchdowns so far this season, Mike Evans has 18 catches and three touchdowns. Godwin in particular is looking really strong this season, making a touchdown tip from him our favorite bet for this game for Atlanta vs. Tampa.

Tips on winners and points more difficult

Because picking a winner and total points is more difficult in this matchup. However, if the betting providers stick with 43.5 for the total points, then a tip on over-points is also possible here.

Because games with Tampa’s involvement in particular regularly promise some points with their “all or nothing” style.

Key Players:

  • QB: Baker Mayfield
  • RB: Rashaad White
  • WR: Mike Evans
  • TE: Cade Otton
  • K: Chase McLaughlin

Atlanta Falcons – Tampa Bay Buccaneers Head-to-head record

The last time these two teams met was only in December last year, with the Buccaneers winning 29-25. So they can win in Atlanta, as they have in four of the last five duels at the Falcons’ stadium.

54 total points were scored that time and Mayfield was at the helm for Tampa even then. With the Falcons, it was still Desmond Ridder and, with all due respect, we think Kirk Cousins is at least as good as Ridder at scoring points.

So the odds for the Falcons vs. Buccaneers on Over 43.5 total points are still playable. However, as soon as the line here rises to Over 45.5, we no longer consider these bets to be particularly playable.

Atlanta Falcons – Tampa Bay Buccaneers betting tip

Our last sentence already shows that both points and victory bets are hanging by a thread here. That’s why we need an alternative as our number one betting option. And we find it at Player Bet.

That makes a bet on a touchdown by Chris Godwin our betting tip for this game between the Falcons and Buccaneers. The Bucs score significantly more touchdowns via the pass than via the run, so both Evans and Godwin are always good for a score.
