For the Cowboys, it’s almost a last chance to still get a shot at the playoffs, especially since the Commanders and Eagles in the same division are doing significantly better. Atlanta, on the other hand, has everything under control so far with a 5-3 record, including in their division.

The Atlanta Falcons are still a bit too inconsistent to be ranked among the top contenders. However, they show time and again that with their squad they are capable of being dangerous to all teams.
However, slip-ups like the last one against the Seahawks or like on matchday 1 against the Steelers must not happen too often. In addition, their defense has to make a statement at some point. Since the 10-18 loss to the Steelers, they have not been able to keep their opponents under 20 points.
Offense stronger than Dallas’
So far, the Falcons are scoring 24.3 points per game. It’s hard to believe, but that’s 2.9 points more than the struggling Cowboys are putting up this season. The eye test also clearly shows that the Falcons offense is running better than the Cowboys.
If they hadn’t scored so many points in garbage time against the Ravens and 49ers, they would have averaged under 20 points. So that should be Atlanta’s first major advantage – and it shouldn’t be the only one.

Because defensively, the Falcons are also a cut above Dallas this season. Their defense allows 24.4 points per game, while the Cowboys allow 28.3. That’s another 3.9-point difference in favor of the Falcons.

Dallas Cowboys – statistics & current form
It’s a tragedy with the Cowboys. Although the score of 24:30 against the 49ers didn’t look so bad, this game was another example of a class difference. 292 to 469 yards were recorded at the end and their defense again allowed 223 yards against the run.
This means that the Cowboys have now allowed 154.6 rushing yards per game – the worst in the NFL. Running is generally not the Cowboys’ thing, and they also come in last in the league in their own running game.
Running game remains poor
Even before the game against San Francisco, the Cowboys were by far the worst rushing team, and this game only solidified that fact. They only manage 74.1 rushing yards per game – a ridiculously low average.
A Derrick Henry or a Saquon Barkley can almost get that much with a single run. It certainly didn’t help that Rico Dowdle – their strongest rusher to date – was ruled out against the 49ers. At least he should return to the squad against the Falcons.
This double running weakness will again make the difference against the Falcons. Because they run 46 more yards per game and allow 22 fewer yards defensively. There is simply no way to make up for this glaring deficit in the running game.

We have already had success against the 49ers with a tip against Dallas and we also see little chance for the Boys against Atlanta. Besides, they also have a worse turnover differential of -8.

The Falcons will have unpleasant memories of their last encounter, when they were blown out of the stadium 43-3. Dallas has won the last three duels, which is one of the few positive aspects of their season.
