Some of the world’s greatest footballers will be chasing collective glory with their respective teams in this edition of LaLiga EA Sports, but there will also be those looking to make their mark on an individual level, aiming for the title of top scorer in the league.
In a league like LaLiga, which has always been home to some of the best strikers in the world, the title of top scorer is never a minor detail. Often, when a team wins the league by a wide margin, it also tries to push its striker to win the Pichichi trophy to round off the season in style. Other times, however, it is a pursuer who seeks redemption, aiming for personal recognition to proudly end a disappointing season.

This is what happened last season to Real Madrid’s Kylian Mbappé, who scored nine goals in the last five games to overtake Barcelona’s Robert Lewandowski in the race for the top scorer title.
The Pole seemed destined for success, but an injury and a prolonged goal drought – interrupted only by a brace on the last day against Athletic Club – prevented him from crowning a perfect season on a personal level.

There is still a long way to go before the end of the summer transfer window for La Liga EA Sports, but the names of the favorites to finish next season as top scorers are beginning to emerge. Bookmakers have many of the usual names among the favorites and are predicting another head-to-head battle between the French striker from Real Madrid and the Polish striker from Barcelona, two of the biggest goal-scoring machines in world football.

Mbappé, the big favorite to confirm his position as top scorer

Kylian Mbappé is once again the leading candidate to win the EA Sports LaLiga top scorer title. After a mixed start to the season, the Frenchman has nevertheless confirmed his coolness in front of goal.
Now that he has settled into the Spanish league, all the conditions are in place for him to improve on last year’s numbers. The only possible obstacle could be slight physical fatigue due to his participation, albeit partial, in the Club World Cup.

The Polish striker, who won the Pichichi in 2022/23 with 23 goals, ended last season with 19 goals, down from his debut season. Under Flick, however, he rediscovered his brilliance, scoring 16 goals in the first half of 2025. He slowed down in the second half of the season, partly due to an injury that prevented him from competing with Mbappé until the end. Despite turning 37 in August, bet365 still considers him one of the favorites, with odds of 2.37.

Sorloth and Raphinha lead the outsiders

Among the most credible contenders are Alexander Sorloth, striker for Atlético Madrid, and Raphinha of Barcelona. The Norwegian, already a star in La Liga with some top performances in the final stages of the season, came close to winning the top scorer title in 2023/24. However, competition within Atleti — with names like Julian Alvarez — could reduce his playing time. Raphinha, on the other hand, had a great year, despite a dip in form towards the end.
If he stays in good shape, he could remain in contention, although the presence of penalty takers and the arrival of Marcus Rashford could limit his offensive potential. Both Sorloth and Raphinha are offered by bet365 at odds of 11.00.
