The new Bianconeri coach is bringing his long-time staff members with him, with the exception of Baldini: taking his place is Sarri’s former assistant, who knows the environment well
Luciano Spalletti has arrived at Juve with his longtime loyalists, except for one. The coach will not be joined by Daniele Baldini, who, after playing under Spalletti (at Empoli), joined him as a technical assistant at Roma and followed him through all his subsequent adventures: at Inter, Napoli, and the national team. It appears that Baldini himself called Giovanni Martusciello to ask him to take his place on Juve’s new staff: this marks a return, as Martusciello had worked with Sarri during the year of the last Scudetto; meanwhile, Spalletti had tried to bring him back into his staff at Napoli, after having counted on him as an assistant at Inter. In Turin, he will act as a facilitator for Spalletti, helping him settle into the Bianconeri environment quickly and smoothly: in fact, he can be considered the “Juve man” on the staff, enjoying the full trust of Chiellini and the club’s veterans.
Spalletti’s assistant will be Marco Domenichini, who has spent his entire career working alongside the coach from Certaldo. He is a trusted figure who knows the new Bianconeri coach’s strengths and weaknesses by heart and understands exactly how to work as efficiently as possible. Domenichini is not Spalletti’s only long-time right-hand man, as Salvatore Russo will also be part of the Turin contingent: he will serve as another technical assistant on the field. Meanwhile, the new coach’s trusted athletic trainer, who will work closely with the club’s existing staff and liaise with the new head of performance, Darren Burgess, will be Francesco Sinatti. For the goalkeepers, the choice has settled on Adriano Bonaiuti, who previously worked with Di Gregorio when the goalkeeper played in Inter’s youth system.
