The Milan forward, at the center of controversy and placed on the transfer market by the club, posted a message on social media quoting the Gospel of Luke
The toxic aftermath of Lazio-Milan, which had it all—from the result on the field to internal locker-room issues—has also spilled over onto social media. As he often does, Rafa Leao turned to social media following the significant controversy that involved him at the Olimpico. The Rossoneri No. 10 posted a story on Instagram in the last few hours in which he wrote a phrase—in Portuguese—that Rafa quotes from the Gospel of Luke (1:37) and attributes to Jesus: “Do what is in your power. The impossible is my task.”
Attitudes— This isn’t the first time that, when the storm blows, Leao has published “philosophical” posts, clearly intended to spark debate and open to various interpretations. In this case, the most straightforward translation is “I’ll do everything I can; don’t ask me to do the impossible.” On the field, in fact, we see a player still visibly hampered by physical issues, but what stands out most are several poor attitudes. From blatantly telling Pulisic to get lost—guilty of not passing him a couple of promising balls (and here one can certainly side with Rafa…)— to his slow and indolent exit from the field despite the team being down (much to the strong disappointment of Tare, who grumbled at length from the stands while watching the scene), continuing with the hug he twice refused to give Allegri, right up to the kicks he delivered to the cooler on the bench. With an epilogue in the locker room after the game, where things got heated with Pulisic.
