The Bianconeri are negotiating with Crystal Palace on the basis of a €33 million deal, including a loan and mandatory redemption in the event of Europa League qualification. The Moroccan, on the other hand, could leave on a dry loan

Juventus insists on Jean-Philippe Mateta, but not at all costs. The Bianconeri have not yet reached an agreement with Crystal Palace, but contacts in recent hours have reinforced the idea that one can be found by meeting halfway on the formula and the total amount. Mediators are working to bring the Old Lady and Palace together, starting from €30 million and €40 million respectively. Translated: $33 million between loan and mandatory redemption in case of Europe plus bonuses. But to reach an agreement, which is possible but not yet a foregone conclusion, there is another issue to resolve: the hefty commissions demanded by the agents. An obstacle that is not insurmountable on paper, but not a mere formality either, from what has emerged. Juventus wants to provide Luciano Spalletti with an additional striker—especially one who is physical and has different characteristics from David and Openda—to replace the injured Dusan Vlahovic (out until mid-March) and give the coach a different weapon to win games where aerial ability can be a decisive asset. Mateta is the most convincing number nine for the present and the future, but everything has a price.

Alternative El-Nesyri—  So, on the one hand, Comolli insists on completing the Mateta puzzle, but on the other, he is keeping a possible alternative on the back burner for a six-month loan. In that case, the replacement of Vlahovic (ready to leave) and the assault on the Frenchman, who in July will be even closer to the end of his contract with Crystal Palace (2027) and will therefore have a lower price tag, would be postponed until the summer. Evaluations are ongoing. The alternative to Mateta is increasingly Youssef En-Nesyri, who is ready to return to Turkey from the Africa Cup of Nations. The Moroccan wants to leave Fenerbahce and can leave on a dry loan until the end of the season. The former Sevilla player’s stock is reported to be on the rise, as is the competition: starting with Napoli, Juventus’ next opponent in the league.
