The Italian will divide his time between his residence in Monte Carlo and his parents’ home in Sesto Pusteria. After Bologna, the Spaniard will go to the US for two more exhibitions. Then the challenge in South Korea on January 10.

After the Finals, the paths of the two rivals will separate. Alcaraz’s season is not over yet: Carlos left Turin for Bologna – traveling by van with his staff – where he will be the main attraction of the Davis Cup Final 8. Spain’s debut in the quarterfinals against the Czech Republic is scheduled for Thursday, although the Spaniard’s presence is not certain due to a muscle strain in his right thigh suffered during the final. Upon arrival in the Emilian capital, he will undergo an MRI to rule out any injuries in the affected area. The world number one is aiming to end 2025 on a high note by winning the Davis Cup for the first time in his career. Last year, in Malaga, the Spaniards were immediately eliminated by the Netherlands. Italy, on the other hand, did it again: the star of the show in 2024, as in 2023, was Jannik Sinner, who this time has decided to take a break.

The final was the last of a troubled and intense season for the Italian, who spent three months away from the courts due to the suspension agreed with WADA for the Clostebol case. Despite that break, Sinner still played 12 tournaments in 2025, reaching the final on 10 occasions, for a total of 64 matches. Explaining the reasons for withdrawing from the Davis Cup, coach Darren Cahill said: “When we suggest that Jannik take that week off, it’s because we’re not only recovering that week, but also another, as the Australian Open has been postponed (from January 12 to 18, ed.). We get two weeks to recover, train him, and make him a better player. One of our biggest responsibilities is to make sure he reaches his peak as a tennis player when he is 28, 29, 30, 31, 32.” Now it’s time to unwind. Jannik will divide his time between his residence in Monte Carlo and his parents’ home in Sesto, reuniting with his girlfriend Laila Hasanovic. A couple of weeks of vacation; then, in early December, he will leave for Dubai, the reconfirmed location for winter training.

In South Korea—  Alcaraz could be busy in Bologna until next Sunday, in case of a final. Then he will return to his home in Murcia, but only briefly. In fact, he has two exhibition matches scheduled in the United States: on December 7 in New Jersey against Tiafoe, and the next day in Miami with Fonseca. His preparation will therefore inevitably be shortened. He will remain at home to train for 25 days and on January 7 he will fly to Seoul. Yes, because on the 10th, he and Sinner are scheduled to play a friendly match: that will be their first rendezvous of 2026. From South Korea, they will both travel to Melbourne for the first Grand Slam of the season. The Spaniard will take part in the Million Dollar 1 Point Slam: professionals against amateurs, with 1 million Australian dollars (600,000 euros) at stake. Sinner could join him.
