Will the Oilers force a Game 7?
The NHL is currently giving us a crazy series with the 2024 Stanley Cup Finals and anything is possible again. For our Edmonton vs. Florida betting tip for Game 6, nothing is impossible, from a clear win for the Panthers to another 8:1 for the Oilers.
In Game 5, the Oilers were again successful, even though they were clearly inferior in shots (24:32), hits (16:38) and face-offs (40.3 to 59.7%). Statistics actually seem to be negligible in these finals anyway.
This of course makes it all the more difficult for betting. Because in the end, all that counts is who makes fewer serious individual mistakes and who has the better luck with a deflected puck or a save at the right time.

Oilers now with more match luck
While the pucks fell to the Panthers in critical situations in the first games, the Oilers now have a bit more match luck. This underestimated and unpredictable moment is likely to play a major role again in Game 6.
Of course, this also has to do with the greater will and freshness in the head, whether these imponderables can be exploited. Connor McDavid, in particular, is currently at the top of his game and by far the best Oilers player.
In the last two games, the Canadiens’ captain has three goals and five assists and now leads the entire NHL playoffs with 42 scoring points. So the odds on another McDavid goal in Edmonton vs. Florida are absolutely playable

Will the Panthers get nervous again? After Game 4, everyone thought they were just going to get it done at home. After all, it’s much better to celebrate with your own fans there. But now they would certainly be grateful for the party in Edmonton.
Because having to go into a Game 7 after taking a 3-0 lead would definitely increase the pressure on Florida. After all, they don’t want to go down in NHL history as one of the five teams that blew a 3-0 lead
Away strength as a trump card
Seven out of ten – that’s the Florida Panthers’ away record so far in the postseason, which corresponds to a high average of 70%. In this respect, they shouldn’t get their field hockey shorts in a bunch in Edmonton.
Especially since they weren’t outplayed in Game 5 either. 32:24 shots on goal and 38:16 hits actually speak a language in favor of the Panthers. They also had just under 20% more face-offs. However, one negative number also stands out: the 12:8 penalty minutes.
