Will the 76ers force a Game 7?
It’s the craziest series in this first round of the playoffs and it deserves a Game 7 at Madison Square Garden. Of course, Knicks fans don’t see it that way and hope that our Philadelphia vs. New York tip for Thursday night is the last one in this round.
But first the Knicks have to come to terms with what happened in Game 5 on Tuesday. They led by six points with half a minute to go, but then everything that could go wrong did – in the end, exactly the opposite of what happened in Game 2.
Back then, it was the Sixers who threw away a game they thought was safe. Now the momentum is with Philly, at least in the short term, and they can send the series to a deciding game on Thursday. Can they do that? The chances are not bad at all.
After all, with Maxey and Embiid they have two scorers who can excel – New York only has Jalen Brunson and then nothing for a long time. So for 76ers vs. Knicks, our prediction for Game 6 is a home win by Philadelphia, which would then send this series into a Game 7.

That was close. Or even closer than close as the 76ers came from the brink on Tuesday night in New York. But sometimes it’s a moment like that that shapes a team and makes another playoff run possible.
Is the same true for Philly now? It’s possible, but Joel Embiid’s health could throw a wrench in the works, as he was limping pretty badly towards the end of Game 5 and it was obvious that he’s not back to 100% yet
Role players have to deliver
So Tyrese Maxey put up an impressive 46 points in Game 5 and was also mainly responsible for the turnaround towards the end. He first hit a contested three-pointer with a foul and then a very long three-pointer to tie the game.
However, he won’t be able to put in such a masterful performance every game, which is why we think the players behind Maxey and Embiid are crucial. Harris finally scored 19 points and Oubre also proved to be a support with 14 points.
They will also be crucial in Game 6. If Harris, Oubre and Batum win the duel against Hart, Anunoby and McBride, then a lot speaks in favor of Philadelphia, where we simply trust Embiid and Maxey to score more points than Brunson and DiVincenzo.
Tips on 76ers are quite possible
The home court advantage, the momentum and the slightly deeper bench favor Philly in Game 6, even if we have to assume that Embiid can’t and won’t be on the court for 48 minutes again.
So for Sixers vs. Knicks, the odds on Embiid scoring under 30.5 points are actually in the draw for Thursday as well. However, our No.1 betting tip is a Philadelphia -3.5 handicap tip, as we already have a Philly win in regulation time on the slate.

New York Knicks – Statistics & current form
Heartbreaking or stupid? We’d say a little bit of both when we talk about the Knicks’ Game 5 loss. Because on the one hand, of course, a lot of things went wrong at the end, but on the other hand, an unnecessary foul on Maxey’s three-pointer and a missed free throw by Hart were also responsible for the defeat.
Now it’s time to get up and fight back, and New York has two games to do so. They can see the game in Philadelphia as a bonus game that they don’t necessarily have to win. But they’ve already shown in Game 4 that they can also triumph in Philadelphia
Knicks strongly superior under the basket
Despite an Embiid on the other side, the Knickerbockers are clearly the better team “in the paint”. They only concede 36.8 points in the series (the NBA’s best playoff figure) and also grab 4.8 more rebounds per game.
If they can continue to dominate these two stats, they should win the series. This also shows the commitment that the entire team puts into rebounding. Hartenstein, Hart, Anunoby – they can all grab a double-digit number of rebounds in a game
What betting options do we have?
The question arises as to the betting options. And here we would rather avoid betting on New York for game 6. Let’s first see how they can deal with this unfortunate loss. Towards the end, their nerves were really shaky, which could be due to their inexperience in the postseason.
Individual player bets are of course still possible. Above all, we see a bet on over 32.5 points from Jalen Brunson as an option for Philly vs. After all, he has put up 39, 47 and 40 points in his last three games.
