Dallas is doomed to succeed!
Dallas has their backs against the wall in their 80th game of the season against the Kings. The Mavs absolutely must win to keep their chances of reaching the play-in tournament in the West from getting any worse.
Dallas Mavericks – Statistics & current form
Dallas last lost in a real nailbiter, 130-132 after overtime in Atlanta. It was seventh loss in back-to-back eight games for head coach Jason Kidd’s selection!
Now, however, the 2011 champions are hoping for the home bonus: the Mavericks have won 22 of their 37 games on home soil. However, the home strength has also declined recently. This can be seen from the fact that the Mavericks have only won three of their last ten home matches. Now only home games are on the schedule for the final three matchdays of the regular season and the hosts want to turn the tide in these once more.
Sacramento Kings – Statistics & current form
While the situation in Dallas is very precarious, the mood of the Kings is at its best. The third-place team has punched its ticket to the postseason for the first time in 17 years! Never before has a team in the NBA had to endure such a long absence from the postseason.
The Californians are also strong away from home: no team in the West has a higher win percentage away from home than head coach Mike Brown’s team with 64.1 percent.
Dallas Mavericks – Sacramento Kings Tip
When the Kings last made the playoffs in 2006, their current best offensive player De’Aaron Fox was not even ten years old. The euphoria in Sac-Town is thus huge due to the recent qualification for the postseason.
For the clash between the Mavericks and Kings on 06.04.2023, however, the tip is aiming for a home win with at least a six-point difference. The visitors already played a game in New Orleans last night and will therefore be more tired.
However, the main factor in favour of the prediction is the respective table situation. The hosts are doomed to win if they still want to make the play-in tournament in the West. The Kings, on the other hand, are already qualified for the playoffs as third in the Western Conference.
A place that can no longer be lost. At the same time, with only three games left in the regular season, the visitors can hardly jump to second place, which is why there is not much at stake for them in the upcoming game.
