Goal festivals in Frankfurt and Dortmund?
FC Bayern and their closest rivals Borussia Dortmund have alternately failed to score on the last few matchdays. Last weekend, however, both teams came away with a very dominant home victory. The Reds won 4:1 against Fürth after trailing 0:1, while BVB won the duel of the Borussias against Gladbach with 6:0. The difference between the two top teams is still six points.
Directly behind the top duo, the battle for the European starting places is particularly exciting. After current third-placed Leverkusen fluffed in Mainz, RB Leipzig consolidated fourth place with a 6:1 thumping of Hertha BSC. Behind them, Hoffenheim and Freiburg are still on course for the Europa League, while Cologne, Mainz and Union Berlin are also still in the race. Accordingly, the direct duel on Saturday between the Eisern and the Nullfünfern is exciting.
Meanwhile, things continue to heat up in the bottom of the table. VfB Stuttgart, who face Hoffenheim in the Baden-Württemberg clash on Friday, are already three points off the relegation places, while there are just five points between current 16th-placed Augsburg and twelfth-placed Wolfsburg. In particular, the match between Gladbach and the Wolves will decide between two teams with significantly greater ambitions who can break away from the bottom of the table. All in all, this promises nine exciting games, for which you can find betting odds and tips in this article on matchday 24 in the Bundesliga.
Hoffenheim vs. VfB Stuttgart – 25 February, 20:30h
VfB Stuttgart have not won for eight league games in a row (two wins, six draws). That is currently the longest winless streak of all 18 Bundesliga teams, which means that the Swabians are only in 17th place and are already four points behind the redemption zone. Now, of all times, they are playing in Sinsheim, where they have not won any of their last six away games.
Moreover, Hoffenheim are back in full swing after a brief hiatus. After losing four games in a row, TSG have recently won two in a row and turned around a deficit in Wolfsburg. The team from Kraichgau has already picked up 18 points in the 2021/22 season after coming back from a deficit – VfB Stuttgart, on the other hand, only two. Accordingly, betting tips on a home win for the Blue and Whites are very popular in the Bundesliga on matchday 24.
Leverkusen vs. Bielefeld – 26 February, 15:30
Until the last matchday, Bayer Leverkusen were still leading the second-round table of the Bundesliga with 13 out of a possible 15 points from the first five games in 2022. Then, however, Gerardo Seoane’s men lost 3-2 in Mainz, which also increased the gap to Borussia Dortmund back to eight points. In view of the fact that none of the last six home games have been lost (four wins, two draws), betting on a home win for the Werkself on matchday 24 in the Bundesliga is nevertheless under a good star.
However, Bielefeld will arrive in good form. The East Westphalians have lost only one of their last eight league games (four wins, three draws) and have built up a three-point lead over the relegation zone. Even with a view to the fact that Arminia have not won as many away points at any other Bundesliga team as they have at Bayer 04, betting on a home win for the Werkself is not a foregone conclusion. That’s one of the reasons why we prefer to bet on more than 2.5 goals.
Union Berlin vs. Mainz – 26 February, 15:30
1. FC Union Berlin have been in crisis since the departure of Max Kruse. Since the goal-scorer, who scored the Eisern’s last two Bundesliga goals in the 2-1 win at Gladbach, left for VfL Wolfsburg, they have zero points and zero goals from three games. This means that the Köpenickers have lost as many times in February alone as in the entire 15 league games before.
In view of the fact that the visitors from Mainz have picked up seven out of a possible nine points from their last three league games and are in good form, there could well be something for the Rheinhessen side in the capital. However, the Nullfünfer’s away record is weak. FSV have picked up just one of 18 possible points from their last six games away from home, which makes it difficult to make accurate predictions on the outcome of the Bundesliga matchday 24. Partly because of Berlin’s lack of goals in front of goal, we therefore choose to bet on a maximum of one team scoring.
Gladbach vs. Wolfsburg – 26 February, 15:30
Both Borussia Mönchengladbach and VfL Wolfsburg want to play internationally by their own standards. Accordingly, the table neighbours are unhappy about only being in the lower half of the table and even belonging to the extended relegation zone. Most recently, the Foals even suffered a complete debacle with a 6-0 defeat in Dortmund after beating Augsburg (3:2).
The VfL, who after nine winless league games in a row recorded two important threes against Fürth (4:1) and Frankfurt (2:0), were also unable to confirm their form last weekend against Hoffenheim (1:2). However, because the duo of Kruse and Wind in particular were able to visibly breathe new life into the Lower Saxons, we think the Wolves’ point win at one of their favourite opponents in the Bundesliga is more likely. We therefore recommend double chance betting odds X2.
in the Bundesliga on Matchday 24.
Freiburg vs. Hertha – 26 February, 15:30
While SC Freiburg are sixth in the table and on course for international competition, the “Big City Club” are stuck deep in the relegation battle. The old lady recently suffered another debacle in the 6-1 home defeat against RB Leipzig and thus remained winless in the seventh competitive match of the 2022 calendar year. In the second-round table, the Berliners have the red lantern with only two points.
Now, of all times, it’s time for the home-strong Black Forest side, who have lost only two of their eleven league home games and are also unbeaten in their own stadium in eight league games against Hertha. However, there is a small ray of hope for Tayfun Korkut’s squad: In the last seven encounters with Sport-Club, the old lady has always scored at least one goal of her own. Accordingly, we find a lot of value in betting that both teams will score in this duel as well.
Fürth vs. Cologne – 26 February, 15:30
SpVgg Greuther Fürth are still nine points off the relegation places. The Central Franconians nevertheless drew new hope for staying in the league from the last few weeks. After all, the cloverleaf has only lost three of its last nine league games (three wins, three draws), finally arriving in the Bundesliga, especially at home. In their own stadium, the Spielvereinigung have not lost any of their last five league games and have picked up eleven of a possible 15 points.
However, the Cologne team is also in good form going into this clash. The “Effzeh” have already picked up 35 points from the first 23 games – the traditional club has never been this good since the introduction of the three-point rule. The odds on the cathedral city winning a point on match day 24 in the Bundesliga are correspondingly good. Since goals on both sides are considered likely, we bet on the combined bet from the Double Chance X2 with BTS: Yes.
Frankfurt vs. Bayern – 26 February, 18:30
Every now and then Bayern look vulnerable in games where virtually nothing has gone wrong in recent years. Most recently, there was a surprising 2:4 defeat in Bochum, before the Reds could not get beyond a 1:1 draw in the Champions League in Salzburg and then even trailed 0:1 at home against bottom team Fürth at the break. In the end, the FCB won the game 4:1, but the Nagelsmann team still looks a bit shaky, also due to the absence of Manuel Neuer.
Eintracht Frankfurt, however, is not really in good form going into the home game against the Reds. The Eagles have only picked up four points out of a possible 18 in the second half of the season, in which they have already suffered as many defeats after six games as they did in the entire first half of the season (four). However, the SGE has won three of the last five Bundesliga duels with Bayern. With many eventualities, we see the greatest probability in a high-scoring duel. We therefore recommend betting odds of over 3.5 goals in the Bundesliga on Matchday 24.
Bochum vs. RB Leipzig – 27 February, 15:30
VfL Bochum were unable to confirm their 4-2 home win over FC Bayern in a 1-1 draw at in-form VfB Stuttgart. Nevertheless, the promoted team has been unbeaten for four league games in a row (one win, three draws) and has already collected 29 points. This means that the Revierklub already has more points on its account than in the relegation season of 2009/10. With RB Leipzig, however, an opponent is now coming to the Ruhegebiet who is still completely unbeaten in 22 league games against promoted teams (19 wins, three draws).
In addition, the Saxons have recently come to grips with their initial weakness away from home. After going winless in their first eight away games of the 2021/22 season, the red bulls have won two of their last three away games – most recently 6:1 in Berlin. As a result, Domenico Tedesco’s team also leads the second-round table with 15 out of a possible 18 points. Despite good results from Bochum, the odds on an away win for RBL are therefore recommended in the Bundesliga on Matchday 24.
Augsburg vs. Dortmund – 27 February, 17:30
In principle, the facts seem to be clear. FC Augsburg have lost three of their last four league games, are fighting relegation in 16th place in the table and have scored the fourth fewest goals in the Bundesliga with 25. BVB, on the other hand, are Bayern’s main pursuers, are eight points clear of Leverkusen in second place and only finished off Borussia Mönchengladbach 6-0 on Sunday.
Lately, Borussia also polished off their upward record with three wins in a row away from home. However, the black-and-yellows have lost two of their last three guest games at FCA and cannot prepare too long for the match at the Bavarian Swabians due to the Europa League away trip to Glasgow Rangers in an energy-sapping game. In addition, BVB have rarely kept a clean sheet, while the Fuggerstädter have always scored in their last 16 Bundesliga encounters against the eight-time German champions.
Accordingly, betting on a high-scoring evening match on Sunday makes the most sense in the Bundesliga on matchday 24. Also considering that Dortmund has such a high goal rate against no team as against FCA (on average 2.52 goals per game), betting on over 3.5 goals offers the greatest value.
