Will the Wanderers’ winning streak come to an end against the ‘Foxes’?
Wolverhampton welcome the stumbling Leicester kickers. The visitors have not won for four games in league action and in between recorded an embarrassing 4-1 defeat in the FA Cup against second division Nottingham. This has also put to bed the issue of a possible title defence in the competition.
The home side, on the other hand, gained confidence with a win at Tottenham last weekend and have been stable for several weeks now. For the upcoming match between Wolverhampton and Leicester, the forecast is for a home win.
Wolverhampton – Statistics & Current Form
Wolves have scored 38 per cent of their goals this season from a resting ball. Only Burnley (41 per cent) and Newcastle (40 per cent) top that figure. In the coming match, the yield could increase, because the Foxes again concede the most goals in the league after a standard situation (14).
Basically, however, the offensive is not the hosts’ showpiece, to put it diplomatically. In fact, coach Bruno Lage’s team has scored only 21 goals after 23 Premier League games. A meagre haul that is only beaten by bottom of the table Burnley and third bottom Norwich.
Former top-goal scorer becomes more goal-threatening again
Slowly getting going, though, is Raul Jimenez. The Mexican was Wolverhampton’s top scorer between 2018 and 2020, but suffered a very serious injury last season that put him out of action for the rest of that campaign after just ten matchdays.
This season he has been available again since the beginning, but for a long time Jimenez was noticeably still burdened and mentally weakened by the injury. Now things are going better again: Jimenez scored two of his five goals for the season in the review of the past three league games.
In the meantime, he also scored a goal in the jersey of the Mexican national team in the World Cup qualifier of “El Tri” against Panama, which secured an important 1:0 victory for his home country.
New goal by Jimenez?
With his form on the rise, betting tips on his next goal in the clash between Wolverhampton and Leicester are also worth considering.
One reason for the weak attack is of course the departure of Diogo Jota. The Portuguese is currently showing just how strong he is at Liverpool and his second place in the Premier League scorer’s table.
Home side have a very solid defence
The home side’s defence is also much stronger: with only 17 goals conceded, they even have the second-best record after league leaders Manchester City (14)!

Leicester – Statistics & current form
Leicester are the only team in the Premier League still waiting for a clean sheet away from home this season – a season-long run that has spanned 17 games.
Recently, the defensive work in the away games has also been worse: A whole dozen goals were conceded in the last four away games.
Although they were against the two top teams in the league in the shape of Liverpool and Manchester City, they also conceded two goals each against easier opponents such as Southampton and Aston Villa.
Will the hosts at least score twice?
In light of these defensive problems for the footballers from the East Midlands, the odds on at least two goals from the hosts in the clash between Wolverhampton and Leicester are also recommended.
Furthermore, the form of the 2016 champions is fundamentally not right. This is partly due to the absence of Jamie Vardy in attack and Timothy Castagne in defence. Without the best goal-scorer on the side of coach Brendan Rodgers and the Belgian international in the back, none of four league games have been won (0-2-2).

Wolverhampton – Leicester Direct comparison / H2H record
In the first leg, Leicester scored a narrow 1-0 home win against Wolves. Thanks to this success, City are unbeaten in five duels against Wolverhampton (2-3-0). Furthermore, the visitors have not conceded a goal in this flashback and the Wanderers’ last two home games against the Foxes have both ended goalless.
Wolverhampton – Leicester Tip
Wolverhampton have won four of their past five league games and climbed as high as seventh in the table. This has put them within striking distance of the international places, which means that the team has a goal for the season and is more motivated.
The opposite is true of the visitors, who now only occupy eleventh place and have been weakened by the absence of Jamie Vardy and Timothy Castagne.
The former attacker is particularly absent from this pairing, with the former Three Lion having scored both of the visitors’ goals in their last five meetings! For the match between Wolverhampton and Leicester, the tip is therefore aiming for a home win.
The prediction is also supported by the fact that Joao Moutinho, a key midfielder, is very likely to return to the squad against the Foxes. With his vast experience, the 35-year-old Portuguese is of enormous importance for the home side’s midfield.
In addition, Mexico’s Jimenez has been more effective in attack of late and the visitors will be a little tired, having played a Europa Conference League match against Denmark’s Randers last Thursday night.
