LBJ with the next gala performance?
There are half a dozen games in the NBA on 03.01.2022. Current tips and odds can be read below. Among other things, the pairing between Charlotte and Phoenix is attractive.
The home side has been in good form recently and is now looking to prove its form against a top NBA team such as the runners-up from the Western Conference. The Timberwolves will also be looking for their third win of the season against the LA Lakers.
Boston Celtics vs. Orlando Magic – 03 January, 00:00 hrs
With Boston and Orlando two problem children meet. The visitors have been waiting four rounds for their next success and the home side have only won two of their last five games. For both teams, numerous absences are the most important reason for the sporting misery.
On the Boston side, Jayson Tatum in particular has been missing from the offensive line. However, the absence of the record champion’s best scorer was compensated for quite well by shooting guard Jaylen Brown.
This can be seen in his average of 27.8 points in the last five games. For the game at the TD Garden between the Boston Celtics and Orlando Magic, the tip includes a home win with at least eleven points difference, as the personnel situation is particularly tense for the visitors.
Cleveland Cavaliers vs. Indiana Pacers – 03 January, 00:00 hrs
The Cavaliers have been slumping lately and that was due to the additional absences of key players like Darius Garland at the one or Jarrett Allen at the five. The latter centre has been back on board since last matchday, but even his return could not prevent the home defeat against Atlanta.
The last matchday was really bitter from the visitors’ point of view. They had to accept a home defeat against the Chicago Bulls due to a buzzer beater by DeMar DeRozan. With three losses in a row, the Pacers are still in third last place in the East.
Caris LeVert, however, is in the best of moods: The former Nets player delivered 27 points in the narrow defeat against the basketballers from Windy City. This is the third time in a row that he has managed to do so.
In the clash between the Cleveland Cavaliers and Indiana Pacers, the betting odds on more than 24.5 points by the shooting guard are interesting.
Sacramento Kings vs. Miami Heat – January 03, 00:00
Miami has won five of the last six duels with the basketballers from California. In addition, the guests are in good form: they have not conceded a defeat in five rounds. This result is all the more impressive because the team from Florida hardly has enough players at hand at the moment.
Last week, Miami had to cancel one of their matches due to the quarantine of numerous players.
However, the visitors have their franchise player available in Jimmy Butler and Jimmy “Bucket” is delivering: He contributed 37 points in the last win in Houston and a temporary ankle injury does not seem to hinder him.
The hosts, on the other hand, cannot hope for home court advantage – only San Antonio and Houston have a worse winning record in front of their own crowd in the West. For the game of the Sacramento Kings against Miami Heat, betting tips on more than 24.5 points by Jimmy Butler, who is currently particularly in demand with the guests, are worth considering.
Charlotte Hornets vs. Phoenix Suns – 03 January, 01:00 hrs
The Hornets and Suns already faced each other once this season about a fortnight ago. On that occasion, Charlotte suffered a blowout by a 31-point margin. Although the basketball players from the Valley are also the favourites in the upcoming game, at least another blowout does not look likely.
This is due to the personnel situation of the guests, who are missing several players such as the strong centre DeAndre Ayton. In addition, the home side is in a stable condition: they have recently won three games!
The Charlotte Hornets and Phoenix Suns have a good chance of winning at home. In addition to the aforementioned points, the prediction is supported by the fundamentally strong offence of the hosts. Only Utah is ahead of Charlotte in the NBA’s offensive rating.
In addition, the guests are still feeling the frustration of the home defeat against the Warriors in the Christmas Game. They lost their lead in the standings and since then they have lost two more games in the next three.
If the Suns don’t watch out, they might not even be in second place in the Western Conference, as Utah has pulled to within one win with one game to go.
Oklahoma City Thunder vs. Dallas Mavericks – 03 January, 01:00 am
With OKC and the Mavs, two particularly decimated teams face each other. It’s no wonder they’ve mostly conceded defeats in their recent encounters. Looking back on the last five meetings, they have picked up only two wins. The visitors alone have been missing no less than ten players recently.
However, they can take heart from the only match they have played so far this season. It took place three weeks ago and the Texans won 103-84 away from home. Kristaps Porzingis is also convincing for the guests at the moment.
The former Knicks player has scored at least 24 points in the last four games. Since Luka Doncic has to pass on, it looks like the centre will also be in demand in the offensive line in the coming games.
In the duel of the Oklahoma City Thunder against the Dallas Mavericks, predictions on a home win or a defeat of the home side with a maximum of eight points are worth considering. Due to the numerous failures on both sides, at least no blowout for OKC can be expected.
Los Angeles Lakers vs. Minnesota Timberwolves – 03 January, 03:30
For the Lakers, veteran LeBron James has been in the spotlight even more than normal lately. Due to the injury of Anthony Davis, LBJ was especially important and the small forward delivered once again: Since seven games the “L-Train” scored at least 31 points! Thanks to this haul, James has climbed up to second place in the NBA’s scoring rankings.
In the dress rehearsal last Saturday, just one day after his 37th birthday, he even ended up with 43 points, setting a new personal season record.
However, his top performances were usually not enough for victories, which is why the Californians have only two wins from the past eight games. The situation is similarly bleak for Minnesota with one triumph from the past five games.
However, the visitors can take heart from their season record so far in this pairing: Both duels this season were won by head coach Chris Finch’s team with an average difference of 21 points!
Karl-Anthony Towns was particularly convincing. The first pick of 2015 scored the most points of all players on the court in both games. However, he is currently in quarantine, which is why it is not certain that he will play against the Vogel team.
For the game at the Staples Center between the Los Angeles Lakers and Minnesota Timberwolves, bets on another strong performance by LBJ with at least 31.5 points look promising.
