Does the Kings’ downward trend continue?
In the upcoming night from Tuesday to Wednesday on 12/29/2021, the Sacramento Kings host the Oklahoma City Thunder basketball team. The home side last took on Memphis and suffered their third straight loss.
OKC, for its part, recently recorded a win against the New Orleans Pelicans. With another win, the visitors would draw level with the home side in the West in terms of winning percentage. For the Game at the Golden 1 Center, the betting base presents today again a current NBA tip and odds!
Sacramento Kings – Statistics & current form
The Californians are only in fourth last place in the Western Conference and are directly ahead of their upcoming opponents. Head coach Alvin Gentry can at least call on De’Aaron Fox again. After the point guard had to miss almost two weeks due to the Covid 19 protocol, he is now available again.
However, his comeback in the recent loss to Memphis proved to be lacklustre, with only a dozen points. By comparison, his seasonal scoring average is 21.3 points per game. But Tyrese Haliburton has been especially reliable at the moment. The sophomore averaged 16 points per game in December.
Compared to October (11.8) and November (11.3), he has clearly improved his scoring. This also applies, with a few exceptions, to his output of assists and rebounds. The franchise, which will celebrate its 100th anniversary in two years, can thank Haliburton for not doing even worse in recent weeks.
Oklahoma City Thunder – Statistics & current form
The team from the “Sooner State” is having a disappointing season: Only the Rockets from Houston and Pelicans from New Orleans rank behind head coach Mark Daigneault’s selection in the Western Conference standings. Especially on the offensive side of the ball the team is lacking: This can be seen in the second-to-last place in the offensive rating in the NBA.
However, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander is an exception to the criticism of the offence. The point guard contributed a whopping 31 points for OKC in their last win and was once again his team’s strongest scorer. For four games, he has always delivered at least 23 points – an average of 27.5!
In addition, Gilgeous-Alexander passed none other than James Harden as the all-time leading scorer in OKC history. The last game was also pleasing for Aaron Wiggins. The rookie scored a new career-best 24 points against the previously four-time unbeaten Pels.
Sacramento Kings – Oklahoma City Thunder Tip
Sacramento and OKC already faced each other last November this season, the game was a real “nailbiter”. In the end, Oklahoma won 105-103 in front of their own crowd at the Paycom Center thanks to a strong second half.
Currently, the guests are doing better: They have won four of their last five games, while the home side has only one win in this flashback. The Kings’ weak home record also speaks in favour of the “Big Friendly” team. No team in the West has a worse home winning percentage than Sac-Town at just under 39 percent.
For the upcoming game between the Sacramento Kings and Oklahoma City Thunder, however, the forecast includes more than 29.5 points, rebounds and assists by Tyrese Haliburton on the side of the hosts.
The point guard has been a positive bright spot for the Kings, averaging 37.2 points per game over the past five games.
