Which face of the Raiders do we see against Philly?

Raiders vs. Eagles on Sunday also means surprise package vs. surprise package. Both teams fluctuate between favourite killer and flop this season. It will also be exciting to see how the Raiders cope in the second game without Jon Gruden.

However, the first game against the Broncos should encourage them that the coaching change will not have too much of a negative impact. They may even feel liberated from Gruden’s controversial and not always easy character.

Running back Josh Jacobs confessed during the week that against the Broncos everyone was totally calm and suddenly no one was afraid of the coach on the sidelines. New coach Rich Bisaccia is very popular with the players.

So the Raiders should definitely be well prepared for the game against Philly. However, it is doubtful that it will be enough for betting on them, which is why we would switch to betting on sub-par points or a successful 2-point conversion for Raiders vs. Eagles. We explain why in this article.

The cross-conference clash kicks off at 10:05pm on Sunday night. The match can be watched live in the RedZone on DAZN.

Las Vegas Raiders – Statistics & current form

So that’s it for Jon Gruden. Not only was the controversial coach fired by the Raiders last week, he was promptly removed from the team’s Ring of Honor. This marks the end of an era whose second phase had not yet really begun.

For the upheaval that Gruden ushered in over the last three years with the Raiders kept stalling. The task of the new head coach Rich Bisaccia will therefore also be to bring consistency into the team and to improve team chemistry.

Bisaccia universally loved

For that, they didn’t make the worst choice in Las Vegas. Bisaccia was previously special teams coordinator and had a good rapport with almost all parts of the team. So at least he has the dressing room behind him already.

The first game under him against Denver didn’t look too bad, even though their defence continued to be very inconsistent. With an average of 24.0 points conceded, they are only 16th in the NFL.

Things don’t look much better when it comes to yards allowed either. 353.3 is a value that is not enough for the top tier of the league. That means they allow even more yards than their upcoming opponent from Philadelphia.

Do the Raiders improve their running game?

For us, it all comes down to the Raiders’ running game on Sunday. With 79.8 rushing yards per game, the franchise has the third-weakest value in the entire NFL. Even the two rushing touchdowns against the Broncos can’t hide that fact.

If they don’t break 100 yards again against the Eagles, it could be a very close game – the outcome is uncertain. Thus, the odds on the Raiders in Las Vegas vs. Philly should be taken with a grain of salt, especially since they are considered medium favourites.

Key Players:
QB: Derek Carr
RB: Josh Jacobs
WR: Henry Ruggs III

Philadelphia Eagles – Statistics & current form

The Eagles came back into the game against the Bucs on Thursday, but it was not enough for a successful comeback. Nevertheless, they should be able to build on their performance against the reigning champions.

In general, it is noticeable this season that the Eagles are always strong at certain points, but then have a quarter in which they go completely under and have thus already squandered one or two victories – often this is even quarter no. 1.

Eagles are considered slow starters

In the last four games, the Eagles conceded at least 10 counterpoints in the first period three times, against Tampa and Dallas it was even 14. That is too much, as they have to chase a deficit for the entire game.

The fact that they still managed to win against Carolina is thanks to their great fourth quarter, in which they have scored at least seven points in all games so far, often even more. That also gives hope for the game against Las Vegas.

A surprise is possible with a good start

What speaks for Philly on Sunday is on the one hand their good defensive form, but on the other hand also the hullabaloo that is going on in Vegas right now. If they finally manage not to sleep through the start, a close game with a possible upset is within the realm of possibility.

However, as there are still a lot of question marks, we would choose another option for betting. Last year, the Egales were the team that attempted the most 2-point conversions, while the Raiders were the team that had 100% odds on this option.

Thus, a bet on a successful 2-point conversion is more promising for Raiders against Eagles than for any other matchup. Especially when we consider how often the Eagles have had to come back from behind this season.

Key Players:
QB: Jalen Hurts
RB: Miles Sanders
WR: DeVonta Smith
TE: Dallas Goedert
K: Jake Elliott

Las Vegas Raiders – Philadelphia Eagles Head-to-head comparison / H2H record

Another matchup rarely seen in the NFL – in fact, only 13 times overall. In the last 16 years, there have been four duels between these two teams, with the record 3-1 in favour of the Eagles.

Still, recent form is a much better indication for Sunday. That’s where we see Philly having a slight advantage defensively, the Raiders offensively. If everything goes normally, the Raiders should be able to pull off a narrow victory – but that is exactly the tendency of the bookmakers.

This makes good odds difficult to achieve. Therefore, as described above, we would take a slightly more unusual route and bet on a successful 2-point conversion. If not with this matchup and this value, then probably never.

Las Vegas Raiders – Philadelphia Eagles Tip

The Raiders are the favourites by up to three points. However, we wouldn’t want to give them much more than that due to the turmoil they are dealing with within the franchise right now.

Thus, the tip of our choice for Vegas vs. Philly is a successful 2-point conversion. After all, the Eagles have managed one in both of their past games against Carolina and Tampa, and the value on that is huge.

Alternatively, we recommend betting on a touchdown by Raiders wide receiver Henry Ruggs III. He proved just how good he is at the moment with a touchdown and an absolute circus catch against Denver.
