Defiance of the Bulls?
There’s no point beating around the bush. RB Leipzig have made a false start to the new season. Even though they had to cope with a number of departures, the core of the runners-up has remained together. Nevertheless, things are not running smoothly at the moment. With a win on Saturday against VfL Bochum, they could at least send out a positive signal.
The Bullen are currently in tenth place in the table. Seven points from six games are far too few given the demands and the financial outlay in Saxony. Jesse Marsch is not yet under too much criticism, but if failures continue, he will have to deal with his superiors.
After all, Leipzig have never lost to a promoted team in the Bundesliga That is not the only reason why the forecast in the duel between RB Leipzig and VfL Bochum clearly goes to a home win. The Bullen have won 17 and drawn three of their 20 games against the newcomers to the top flight. Should the Revierklub, of all clubs, end this streak?
From our point of view, VfL will be in the Bundesliga’s relegation battle until the end of the season. They are already deep in the cellar. With four points, Thomas Reis’ team is currently penultimate. It obviously doesn’t make sense to place a bet on the visitors to win a point in the game RB Leipzig vs Bochum.
Germany RB Leipzig – Statistics & current form
All in all, it is still surprisingly quiet at the bosses of RasenBallsport. In the Bundesliga, they are currently in the dull mediocrity and what is even worse: In the Champions League, they are already facing elimination after two match days in the group phase. If this continues, then you might be looking at quotes for the first coaching sacking of the Bundesliga season.
Out in the top flight?
Maybe the Bulls were blinded by the outstanding 6-0 win over a miserable Berlin Hertha last weekend. It was the only win in the last six games On the other hand, there are also four defeats on the books. From this point of view, you should perhaps keep an eye on the odds for a point win for the promoted team in the match RB Leipzig against Bochum.
During the week, they suffered their second defeat in their second match in the top flight. At home against FC Brugge, a first final for third place, a win was needed and after Christopher Nkunku scored the 1:0, it looked good. But the Belgians were the better team and in the end deserved to win 2-1.
In the Champions League, the Saxons will now have to make a huge effort to at least reach the Europa League. Jesse Marsch would have a few reasons to make changes on Saturday. Angelino is likely to return after suspension in the top flight. Still missing will be Dani Olmo, Marcel Halstenberg and Marcelo Saracchi.
Predicted line-up of RB Leipzig:
Gulacsi – Simakan, Orban, Gvardiol – Klostermann, Adams, Haidara, Angelino – Nkunku, Forsberg – Poulsen – Coach: Marsch

Germany Bochum – Statistics & current form
The situation in the Bundesliga standings is certainly anything but rosy, but VfL Bochum are still taking things very calmly this season. Basically, they are happy to be back in the top flight at all. The club is still within touching distance of the top flight, which is why things are still very quiet at Castroper Straße.
Away without a point
However, VfL are not really delivering in recent weeks. The Bochum side have picked up just one point from their last four games in the Bundesliga The heavy 0:7 defeat in Munich hurt just as much as the 1:3 at home against a struggling Hertha. Under these circumstances, the prediction between RB Leipzig and Bochum is once again clearly in favour of a home win.
After all, there was once again a point last weekend. VfL Bochum fought their way to a goalless draw against VfB Stuttgart. On Saturday in Leipzig, however, it should be much more difficult to keep a clean sheet. Coach Thomas Reis knows what his team could face at the Red Bull Arena. Away from home, the Revierklub is still without a point.
Personnel-wise, the Bochum side are not exactly on roses at the moment either. Simon Zoller’s long absence due to a cruciate ligament rupture is particularly painful. In addition, Cristian Gamboa, Maxim Leitsch and Tom Weilandt are missing. Nevertheless, there could be changes. Takuma Asano or Danny Blum are certainly options for the starting eleven.
Predicted line-up of Bochum:
Riemann – Bockhorn – Masovic, Bella Kotchap, Danilo Soares – Losilla – Löwen, Rexhbecaj, Antwi-Adjei, Holtmann – Polter – Coach: Reis

RB Leipzig – Bochum Direct Comparison / H2H-Balance
The Bullen from Saxony and VfL Bochum have played five duels so far. They have met four times in the second Bundesliga and once in the DFB Cup. This means that the two clubs will now meet for the first time in the top flight. The record is very bleak for the Revierklub, because RasenBallsport have won all five direct duels.
The last encounter was in the last 16 of the DFB Cup last season. VfL, as a second-division team, were guests at the Red Bull Arena and had no chance in the 0:4 defeat. Amadou Haidara and Marcel Sabitzer set the course for victory with their goals before the break. After the break, Yussuf Poulsen scored a brace to increase the lead to 4-0.
United Kingdom RB Leipzig – Bochum United Kingdom Tip
The Bulls are expected to show a defiant reaction to their very mediocre performance against FC Brugge on Saturday. Further minus performances should be avoided, otherwise the Saxons will really sink into the mediocrity of the second league.
The Bullen’s record in the new season is really far behind expectations, but they certainly have the qualities to defeat a promoted team, especially as they have not lost in 20 duels against newcomers in the top flight. We are therefore clearly leaning towards a home win between RB Leipzig and Bochum.
We can even imagine that there will be a similar release as last time against Hertha BSC. So VfL should dress warmly on Saturday, especially as they are still without a point away from home this season and have lost all direct duels against RB. We have therefore decided to play the betting odds on a win for the home side between RB Leipzig and Bochum.
