Belgium vs. Switzerland Tip & Quotes, 11/11/2020 – 20:45
On Wednesday evening, November 11, 2020 at 8:45 pm, the Belgian national football team will welcome Switzerland to a friendly match at the Roi Baudouin Stadium in Switzerland. The Red Devils won their last international match in October in the Nations League in Iceland. The Confederates, on the other hand, are still waiting for the first full success this year. In the last NL game last month, however, there was a 3-3 victory in Germany.

The national team of Roberto Martinez met the favourite role in Iceland and set the course for early victory by striker star Romelu Lukaku’s lead goal (9th). The home team came almost immediately to the 1-1 equaliser (17th, Saevarsson), but the guests went through the transformed foul meter of Lukuka again in the first round in front (38th). In the second period of the game, the Red Devils had more security with the lead in their backs. Due to the lack of Hazard, De Bruyne and Mertens, creativity was lacking. The Icelanders no longer had a significant chance to compensate. Belgium even missed a higher victory on the other side.
The World Cup Third won three of the four nation league games – in Denmark (2:0) and Iceland (2:1) as well as at home against Iceland (5:0). The only bankruptcy to date has been in England (1:2). Belgium thus leads Group A2 (9 points). Denmark and England rank behind each other with seven counters. Iceland is at the bottom without points. Belgium played the only friendly this year at home against Ivory Coast and didn’t exactly dazzle with fame (1:1).
Belgium is participating in THE EURO 2021 and has caught a feasible group with Russia, Denmark and Finland. The last European Championships over four years ago took the Red Devils to the quarter-finals against Wales (1:3).
The Belgian national team is the second best offensive team in the competition with 10 goals after four NL match days. Seven goals were scored by Romelu Lukaku (3) and Michy Batshuayi and Dries Mertens with two pits each.
Eden Hazard will also be missing this time (corona infection) and other top games will probably still be spared.

The Swiss caught a good strong lead in Germany and quickly rewarded themselves with a 1-0 lead by Gavranovic (5th). The Germans were uncertain afterwards and Switzerland had good opportunities to score the second goal. One of them used Freuler 2-0 for the outsider (26th). But immediately after the goal, the DFB team struck back and scored a 1-2 lead by Werner (28th). The game was exciting again and Vladimir Petkovic’s team saved the thin gap in the half-time break. After the change of sides, a wild strike exchange with three goals took place within five minutes. Havertz equalised for Germany 2-2 (55th). Two minutes later Gavranovic tied up his double pack and scored for another Swiss lead – 3-2 (57th). This lead didn’t last long because Gnabry stood perfectly and dusted 3-3 (60th). After that, however, the pace was lost and there were only half chances for the guests. In the aftermath Schär flew off the course with yellow-red (94th).
The Petkovic team is still without victory in the NL. Both away games in Ukraine (1:2) and Spain (0:1) have been lost by the Confederates. The two counters during the group phase were against Germany (1:1 and 3:3). Switzerland is last with two points in Group A4. Before that, the Ukrainians and Germans are on the credit side with six points each. The table leads Spain (7 points). The first friendly international took place last month. There, too, Switzerland remained without victory and defeated Croatia 1-2 at home.
Switzerland will have to increase significantly before the European Championships next year. In a group with Italy, Wales and Turkey, this year’s performances will not be enough to move into the quarter-finals. At THE EURO 2016, they made it into the next round. After that, however, the game ended immediately after losing penalty shootout against Poland.
Mario Gavranovic (2), Haris Seferovic, Silvan Widmer and Remo Freuler scored the five goals in the Nations League.
Right-wing defender Jordan Lotomba has been tested positive for Covid-19 and will be out accordingly for the upcoming international matches. Eleven Bundesliga professionals were called into the squad by national coach Petkovic.

Belgium is a clear favourite for victory in the friendly against Switzerland. The Swiss have not yet won an international match in 2020 and were also unsuccessful in the last friendly against Croatia in October. In addition, a victory of the nation on Belgian soil was more than 60 years ago. Two years ago, however, the Petkovic team beat the Red Devils at home. The World Cup third is fully on track in the Nations League semi-finals with three victories from four games. In the friendly against the Ivory Coast, however, the Martinez team struggled about four weeks ago and did not go beyond a 1-1. We predict that Belgium will take on the favourite role and take the test kick with a concentrated approach. Accordingly, we favor for this tip forecast the 3-way bets on Belgium wins, where betting odds wave on average around 1.66 to 1.70.
