Even in the sixteenth finals, Young Boys showed no shame and scored a full 4-0 victory, moving more than safely into the quarter-finals.
In the distance, the Swiss champion was only able to convince to a limited extent abroad. As already mentioned, the first round saw only a narrow 1-0 victory against Etoile Carouge. The second away game was significantly improved and brought an 11:2 edge victory. Outside, 12 goals were scored and the defence had to accept two stalls.
The Young Boys had already won the Swiss Championship before the last match day. Nevertheless, the last day of the match led to a 3-1 victory over St. Gallen.
